I think the lace is just too dark for the skintone, you can't trim it too close or else you won't be able to glue it down (which also hasn't happened, it's lifting at the sides) and it'll fray way quicker.

Right, and what I was focusing on is that if you transfer a fertilized ovum into a uterus you don't need the involvement of the ovary, which is why it's possible for a woman to carry a pregnancy by means of in vitro (and a donated egg obviously) even if she has no ovaries, as long as the uterus is still there.
