Civvie 11 - Retro FPS Boomer

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Like i said, i'd like to be wrong on this one.

But think about it. To my knowledge he hasn't had any major fuck-ups/controversies. All dissent in twitter/youtube comments gets drowned out by his yes-men.
He compares favorably to other big fps guy GmanLives due to Blood Fresh Supply and Sigil videos (Gman is a clown but i still think that Civvie mentioning him in BFS video was a dick move).
He gets a ton of patreonbux.
He gets attention from actual game devs on twitter and references in their games.
He has a role in a sequel to one of his favorite video games as himself (well not really himself but you get the idea).
All of the above has to be getting to him. Civvie's on top of the world right now, he can't do wrong, ever.

But i'm just a Negative Nellie, pay me no mind.

I think you've got strong points, I've been hoping that he won't catapult into some bullshit because he's primed to make some dumb choices and political statements. He slips in some political shots from time to time though is smart enough to not linger on it.. for now. He jokes about being a 'boomer' but he also uses Cancer Mouse as a strawman to shit on anyone he likes. It's comical that several games have actually put Cancer Mouse in, both as a reference to him and a playful thumbing of the nose.

If Postal ends up crossing the wrong line I'm half-expecting him to throw a bitchfit or put up a long trigger warning like he does with the other Postal videos.

Yeah, Gman was way off with the Blood: Fresh Supply release. To be fair, I didn't notice the issues at first either and I'm a diehard fan of Blood. But I only played the first level for like 10-15 minutes and went to say "Hey, this is out! Go play this!" Which is what I think he did. My excuse is that I don't have a YT review channel so you need to be held to a higher standard if you're doing reviews.

Gman also needs to be told to shut the fuck up with the dead memes and "Shieeeeeeet" after every other sentence trying to be a psuedo-nigger. He did not do that at all in his earlier videos.

Something between "average" and "Hestonworld". On "Hestonworld" all npcs have guns and it can be brutal even if you're wearing cop clothes. It's funny how post-Hestonworld difficulties can be easier in that regard, because npcs will have explosives and one guy with napalm launcher will absolutely take out half of the zone (including himself) trying to kill you.
Also i recommend having separate saves for each day. Base game doesn't crash as much as it used to, but recently my save got ruined because one zone would crash the game every time i tried to enter it.

We’ve reached the tds plateau and I’m certain that in a few months it’ll start winding down. If he hasn’t gone full politisperg by now I don’t think he ever will.

Fuck. I like Hexen. Way more than Heretic in fact. But it has one flaw. One fatal flaw. Horrifically bad "where the fuck do I go now?" map design. The first level is fine but after that... Fuck. It's a game where I'd love to see someone mod it just to add markers on the map and text or something, literally anything, telling you where to go. Anything like "The switch you hit did blank so go here" would work wonders for Hexen. Good game but eventually you will use the noclip of level skip cheat to move on if you're not religiously following a guide or let's play.

I have such a love hate relationship with Hexen. On the one hand I love its world, sprite work and weaponry, and on the other I hate it's enemies, long tedious levels and the fact that YOU HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE WHERE TO GO BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS CRYPTIC AS FUCK FOR NO REASON.

I wish there was some campaign mod out there that made Hexen more linear, like Heretic. I don't care if it means it will just be another Doom-esque romp, I just wanna play the game without trying to tear my eyes out in frustration.

It could be interesting to see him playing the old 2D Prince of Persia games first, then having the final part of the video be a quick bit on just what the Zorro game got wrong.
