About 5 minutes ago, Phil was explaining how he and his parents would go for an authentic Italian meal when he was young, and they'd share a small pizza to start before a pasta main.

5 minutes later, there was a rant about how Americans got their hand on Italian food and added heavy oils and cheeses, and created larger portions. Phil's 'understanding' of traditional Italian faire is that it is lighter and uses natural, 'robust' ingredients.

So, just to read between the lines and state the unstated here, Phil Burnell has never had authentic Italian cuisine, and has postured what he knows to be Americanized Italian cuisine as being 'authentic' for years. Thanks for clearing that up, Philberto Salvagno. Now drop the poser act.

There's a brief series called 'Phil Reacts'. So the answer would be that yes, you did.

Adding to this, DSP lived in fucking Connecticut. He didn't live in New York City where it still isn't his precious AUTHENTIC EYE-TALIAN PIZZA but it's good as hell. He lived in some shit town in fucking Connecticut, and he talks like he's an authority on Pizza. Hell, he didn't even grow up with the weird assed sub-NYC American Pizzas of Jersey or Long Island, the weird assed parts where they pronounce it Pitza for some reason. I'm sure you can get pizza in Seattle just as good as some podunk Connecticut pizza.

His audience is getting closer and closer to fully waking up. This stream was gold and what's best about it is that he is killing himself with his behavior. The douche canoe cannot help but have the shittiest attitude about everything.

That little mini "I don't have to talk about Divinity 2" tirade? He could have said, "it's still on the docket. I need a breather from it but I just want to say thank you guys for the support that led up to me even starting the game." He could then hold it on the back burner longer and come across more genuine to his audience but no. That would require effort.

"What do you mean Patreon goals? That has always been for support from YouTube viewers. Weren't you listening?" Again, a better liar would have tied that into the other point. Set the next Patreon goal for a Divinity Sundays. We got X amount and the stream every Sunday is Divinity. Done. He kills two birds with one stone.

The Sonic hat thing is also him being a pissy bitch. Just say, "hey guys, it's hot. Not now but we can definitely do that Spring, Summer, and Fall." Again, it's leaving that carrot on the stick as a future goal without being an ass. It's a crafty way of saying no but, again, he is too smooth brained to do that and his "core audience" is waking up to him being an obstinate queen.

You guys realize what he's doing right? Some guy isn't randomly popping in and tipping him, he's either

1) totally making the tips up from Silent Bob, One Minute Man, nocouture etc, OR

2) getting tips from someone like Jeff still, and saving them for when support is low and acting as if they came in right away.

He's seed tipping himself. He tips himself closer to the 100 dollar goal so people will be more likely to tip the remainder. It's a super common streamer tactic.

He admitted to not getting a tip from one minute man last week when he said "no tips have come in for 50 minutes!" and snowkarl or someone asked 'but one minute man tipped 10 mins ago?' and he said "oh... it's not in my feed so....."

My theory is that he has one person that tips $40 every day, and Phil reads what he thinks will be an appropriate amount after the break to encourage people to hit he tips goal, but also net him a little extra. Then he also just pockets the money secretly on days where the goal was hit.

Alternatively, there may be several whales that tip on a regular basis (consider that some big tippers like DevilUK will just go missing), and he actually gets several direct tips every day, and just picks one that he feels will be the most appropriate. Remember he disappeared after Phil asked to speak to him behind the scenes - that could have been to arrange a standing order for support.

I do not believe it's all Phil himself, though. On one hand, it's a great boost to entice people to hit the goal, but on days like today, he would be the majority tipper himself, and I don't think he'd be satisfied with doing that. That instance where he noted that a tip hadn't come in for 2 hours I addressed at the time - it suggests that he reads these tips on his breaks to use them to hit the vest goal, but they come in consistently at another time each day, and via the direct method (since he was trying to see if StreamElements had an issue when he complained). He has botched this before and admitted that SilentBob tips him directly and he reads it when he 'sees the email', but I think it's just a daily standing order. He has mentioned that SilentBob tipped him on his day off before, and, allegedly, does not actually watch the streams.

Regardless, the lynchpin of this whole operation is the names. Either Phil or the whales have chosen to use these identities to differentiate between the tips for some reason. It obviously differentiates between the tip values, but is that because it is different people, or is this something Phil came up with as a way to keep track of what value he has used? We don't know. I said before that OiC got a lot of attention as a big whale, but whatever is happening here with these names, and these consistent cycling amounts, and this lack of public-facing notifications - this really demonstrates that there is an intentional scam operating here.

Whatever it is, Phil did not craft the methodology behind it. He's a grifter but he's got too much of a habit of showing his hand by not being able to keep even simple lies straight, so something like networking his behind the scenes tips would be a little bit out of his paygrade. Whoever it is likely set up all the terms and conditions on how DSP could get his money and made it kid proof so even someone with DSP's intellect could follow the instructions.
