General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I agree. I'm just saying that the management part and the work assistant / agent should not be combined jobs and that having them be combined creates a very toxic environment.
I can imagine it being twice as bad if it does run on that sort of system mentioned before. With managers pushing for things that the talents aren't particularly interested in doing whilst also stamping down creative ideas that might be problematic.

What a good duck

To rainbow-post a little, I do feel like management has relented a bit over the past month. We've seen more cross-branch collabs, appearances outside of the vtuber sphere, Pekora is finally getting the giveaway she wanted to do, Yagoo giving an interview, etc. Ships do take time to turn, so maybe what is happening now is a result of Coco telling them a few months ago that she was leaving.
It certainly feels like Coco threatening to leave and then actually going through with it gave the company a bit of a shock, and now they're scrambling a bit and opening up as a result.

We'll see how this turns out - whether the reins are indeed loosened, or if things will return back to the restrictive status quo.

Coco managing to change things even on her way out would be a perfect cap off to the Legendary Dragon.

Well, look at the chicken collabing with Vshojo, Ina and Pika, and whether you loved or hated it the shadowverse thing with Calli.

I am personally ambivalent, if they want to sink their own ship or put it in the right direction. Holo just being a spring board for talent who move on to better things, or realizing the talent is what makes them sucessfull.

I wonder if holomems will ever band together and collectively demand something to the management.

Poor girl AZKi, her birthday is July 1st.

I wonder what's the reason.
Covid?
Originally scheduled to use the studio before Coco's graduation and then they want to postpone the live but the studio is already booked for few months?

Speaking of AZKi, I've actually got some of her roommate Nayuta's old songs saved on my computer. She used to be pretty popular on early YouTube, as people would repost her stuff from NND. Been listening to her since 2009 or so. Here's two of her very old songs that've been nuked from YouTube, I have no idea if you can find them on some Japanese site because I can't read moonrunes. Unfortunately I don't have the original videos that accompanied them as I converted them to MP3 files, and the quality is kinda shitty.

The Melt cover is really interesting when compared with her 2018 cover, it really shows how much she's improved.

She powerlevels a lot on the member streams, she is also considering having a stream where she reviews her fan's Gunplas.
If she ever does that, I finally have something proud of to share.
I skipped it as I know nothing about Gundam except for the memes. However with my intrest in most new anime drying up is it worth getting into?
Yes, depending on which series/universe too.

Who would've known that after 14 years, she is still here doing her best (and just released some songs). Kinda wonder how old she really is though.

She is also really popular among the touhou doujin circles, having sung a lot of iconic songs my favourite being:

Man, I'm still feeling down after Coco's graduation and now nostalgia came to punch me with that Kumikyoku NND cover. Another shot of vodka, I guess.

How bad is Cover management that Coco's graduation is making other people want to leave as well?

The current situation should by any account be dream jobs for every girl in Hololive. There is no productive thing management could reasonably be doing to cause their talents this much stress and anxiety.
It's because of the way the deals are structured. The actual people are essentially employees and all of the IP, models, and archives belong to Hololive. This isn't equivalent to an agency and more like an entire production company. Think Disney and their in-house stars. New hires don't care because they need to be uber successful before it becomes a problem. The assets Hololive can leverage makes it worthwhile.

When the person is driving a lot of value and their popularity explodes it creates a precarious position. You can give them more points on the back end and there is only so much to give. There's the overhead of an entire production company after all. A shrewd businessman would realize popularity is fleeting and it's in their best interest to separate, get IP they control, and strike while the iron is hot. Hololive can't match that independence without straight up giving the IP to the person. That's a precedent they cannot afford to set with such a large stable of talent that would eventually want the same.

Leaving the door open and parting on good terms with the first is just the least-bad solution. There are things Hololive can do moving forward with new hires/renegotiations to make the path much harder. Anyone in a similar situation is likely to see the writing on the wall and realize their best option is to leave in her wake. If they stick around until renegotiations that option might not be on the table.

She's a huge history sperg (not judging, as am I,) she especially loves Egyptian mythology. She also loves the historical metal band Sabaton. For a while she actually rebranded her mothgirl character Yuni Luna to an Egyptian goddess or some shit called Asyla, the now dead Twitch channel was called AsylaTV.
Yo, i didnt think Pippa could get legit even more based! And TIL she was Mothgirl!
We also watched Hathawa's Flash, and planning to watch the other 2 movies when they come out.
Ina seems to be a bit of a Gundam fanatic, she even explained to chat that Hathaway takes place in a somewhat of al alternative timeline where a certain character doesnt exist, which leads Noa to do something that he didnt do in the original movie.

I believe she read the novel.
You Takos need to get her to play Super Robot Wars. I dunno which one to even start, but I think we all need this.
or In Marine's case, just let her rot in fever alone in her room.
PPTenshi really is an angel of the Lord. :heart-full:
Watch 8th MS Team first. The original series was made for kids in the 70s and it shows in both respects.

If you like the setting (8th MS Team), watch the whole series.

Uh, any hints where one could watch this? Asking for a friend...
