I think you hit the nail on the head. There are androgynous men who are nice in a non-masculine way, who look beautiful instead of handsome. In case of Breadtubers and such it looks like they only want to reject the negative, exaggerated traits connected to masculinity without filling that place with something. Or they fill that spot with exaggerated negative feminine traits.

In short, there's no attempt at being the best you you can be, visually or personality-wise.

Considering haz is/was a law student he probably knows how to conduct himself professionally. I think he just realizes that these breadtube types aren't worth being treated with respect and he's just having fun clowning on them . He also understands optics more than he lets on. A lot of us kiwis (myself included) enjoy haz cause of his unhinged energy and the fact that he is funny. But back when he debated xanderhal he said that he doesn't act or pretend to be some genius intellectual because that doesn't appeal to or reach the common man. Haz is actually interested in getting his ideology out there to normal blue collar workers and not fart huffing liberals. Now do I think it's all an act? Personally, I don't it is, he seems genuine and upfront which is a part of his appeal. He's still a filthy commie though and deserves a chopper ride but he's at the back of the line.

He stared off somewhat gender critical, saying that a collection of sterotypes about gender (dress, behaviour, affect etc) are conflated with biological sex by conservatives. He fails to recognize the fact that some troons legitimize their claim to the mantle of the opposite sex based solely on said characteristics, making them bozos as well.

This video seems to be in response to the "masculinity crisis" which ppl like Canadice Owens pushes, especially citing guys like Harry Styles putting on skirts and dresses and calling it avant-garde (he shows examples from Sydney Watson and Fox News' Laura Ingram). As such, Gender Critical feminists ("terfs") are excluded from the discussion, and are briefly acknowledged as "bozos on the left." This is strange because he states that sex is immutable, which is of course a fact, therefore it must be smeared as terven propaganda.

Funnily enough, he mentions this trend. He starts off by saying that it is ridiculous to assume that any content creator would troon out for clout, and that they must always face oppression when they make the announcement of their troonsition. He brings up Ollie's trooning, doesn't say his name, but pulls up a clip from a stream done on Sargon's channel with the QuarterPounder the Quartering, in which they are discussing Ollies first troon tweet getting a whopping 260k likes. Thot Crime uses their full names, first and last, but doesnt drop ollies name "becasuse (s)he watches my channel and i dont want to ruin "her" day."

As a way to present PhiloTroons sucess as an anomaly, he brings up "James Stephanie Sterling" and plays a video in which he's sperging about loosing subs after he started to embrace "nonbinary finery." He ignores the fact that PTube was always making vids about troons and social justice, while Sterling was known for gaming content. GamerGate taught these bozos nothing, and they still think that video games can be the next frontier of wokeness, despite the fact that gamers just want to game just as boomers want to grill.

Obvs his makeup is tragic. He didnt color block/correct at all. I dont think he wore concealer or foundation, just stuck to eye liner and shadow,masacara, lipstick and brows. He inexplicably filled in his unkempt eyebrows, making them look even bushier and manly.

Also i think he may be wearing a 'breast plate' like some drag queens do. You can see his moobs and man nips thru the shirt...

I don't watch Jim Sterling but his old fans pointed out that ever since he "came out" he's been more annoying and aggressive. I guess he got frustrated because he didn't get the praise and pats on the back he was expecting just for trooning out.

There is a market for progressive video game critique, but that is not what Jim Sterling ever did. He is a leftoid TheQuartering who did rage-bait news videos which do not appeal to the same kind of person who wants to hear why Final Fantasy VII is pro-trans.

Examples. Innuendo Studios used to make video essays about games before switching to the topic of alt-right. hbomberguy is one of the Big Three of BreadTube, and several of his most popular hour-long videos are about vidya. Errant Signal and Noah Caldwell-Gervais are at least progressive, and it shows very much in their work. All these people are doing well.

It is very much possible to make a career on YouTube being a lefty who talks about video games. The issue is that Jim Sterling is not the person to do it. He has shit writing, shit humour, shit aesthetics, and shit looks. He likes wrestling and Boglins. There is nothing about his work or him as a person that appeals to a gaymer with a degree.

Their's also the issue of market saturation. the sheer number of breadtube wannabe's makes it difficult to get the clicks. Not in the least because its a very niche market.
