My autism tells me it's film, likely kodak gold. Barb has posted about him using analog before. So less photos and no way to review them on the spot.
Some photogs love the "rawness" of film and won't touch up photos at all. So don't think, "man barb is ugly in these," because she's always ugly. This is what she actually looks like. They just photoshop her usually.
