The kids in The Breakfast Club came from different cliques and backgrounds, however after joining together they felt like they were judging and being judged based on their stereotypes and not who they are as individuals. From the trailer, it seems to me like this show is doing the exact opposite. I seems like they're basing their characters on certain stereotypes instead of breaking away from them. Look at the cis dude for example. From the preview he seems to be the main "douche bag" character. Going back to The Breakfast Club, remember the kid that acted like a punk so he didn't have to deal with the fact that his parents were abusing him? What if this character is acting "psychotic" as a mask to hide his own emotions and insecurities? But if this is going to be anything like "assigned male" then I doubt it will have any meaningful character development.
