I'm not really surprised to see their second wave of funding tanking. They drew in a solid haul first time round, and as people mentioned before, the Troon Community is pretty insular, despite their false perceptions from social media of being everywhere. What's probably happening is people went in, donated to support the cause the first time around, and now the second time the begging tray is coming about, they're not feeling inclined, they did their part, they contributed to the solution, someone else should step up to the plate now.
Remember, the whole supporting group out there is after asspats and validation for being a good ally. The second hit is rarely as good as the first, and there's no shortage of new causes, like the Tranch Farm, to be a first-in donor for instead. The exceptions to this rule are generally producing, or claiming to be producing, something consistently like content creators on the tubes.
What I'm curious to see is where things go as the funding falls flat on its face. Will the Tranchers start screeching on social media? Will they triple-down on merch? Maybe we'll get a Tranch Branch as the community splits over higher rent demands. Or maybe a suspiciously wealthy furry with conjure piles of money out of nowhere, in return for some time with the Alpaca's.
