Most of this started with a webcomic but now there ton of fan art of DBZ character doing arab things. And in google .fr is you search : Is Vegeta....
The first suggestion is :Is vegeta from Algeria?

A journo even asked DBZ super's illlustrator if Vegata was from a Algeria.

I decided to ignore your advice and watch the anime episodes of Dragon Ball Z. I understand nothing and you are correct in that it has more filling inside than a stuffed turkey.

I regret my decision already.

I did also discover it has a prequel, but I’m willing to bet that I am hilariously behind the curve on that. Probably will try and give that a watch first.

I am an unironic fan of this shit because I enjoy the central theme that contrasts harshly with western superheroes who just have powers - even though the (somewhat endearing) protagonists in dragon ball are gifted, they need to train for ages and will still get kicked in the balls or outwitted again and again. And then they pick themselves up, acknowledge their weakness and improve (also probably doesn't hurt that I watched it as a wee child).

But even as a fan, I recommend you only watch the cut versions. Dragon Ball has a fan recut that is very good (and a whopping 60% shorter), dragon ball Z has an official recut called dragon ball kai. Dragon ball super starts with 2 movies (though the show also covers them, the movies are shorter and better overall though) and doesn't have a lot of filler. Also gets pretty dark at times. The full db and dbz shows are unwatchable, they just go on forever.

I doubt Akira Toriyama had even seen a black man in person by the time he was starting to write Dragon Ball, which makes me think it's very unlikely this is in any way a story about race. Also imagine how sad it would be to have your enjoyment of a show be affected by the colour of your skin.

I still enjoy dragon ball. Hell, I like the games too. But I'm not that hard into it. When I watched the shows, old and new, I didn't try to wrap my head around the plot, this rang even more true when I got older, and then even more when I found out that the creator is a bird brain and makes plot holes because he can't remember shit. I'm fine with the screaming, fighting, energy blasts, I like that shit.

Love it or hate it, it gave the world an insufferable yet at times, lulz filled community to cringe and laugh at. Someone brought up SethTheProgrammer and I decided to take a small look. Those that have mentioned the power scaling community is overly autistic is correct. r/powerscale is a shit fest and a quick google search of Seth will bring up the fact that Reddit does not like his ass.

After stumbling across one of his videos, I can't entirely blame them. I don't like reactionary fags either but he doesn't exactly come across as better. Enjoy some lame, whiney faggotry. I stopped after 5-6 minutes.

I liked DBZ as a kid, but as soon as I got into more mature animes like Cowboy Bebop I dropped DBZ and have never looked back since.

For me it's kind of odd for an adult to still watch something like DBZ when there's more mature franchises like Berserk, you just get so much more out of animes aimed at older audiences imo, even if it's not necessarily more thought provoking content, but simply more sexual content or grittier violence, that it's just kind off odd to me to think of someone above a certain age watching anime aimed at kids.

Dragonball is just goofy fun like pro wrestling and superheroes mixed together with elements of eastern mythology and cosmology. Goku and Vegeta are manchildren with the ability to blow up planets by sneezing. It has it appeal.

I never really paid much attention to her, I think Perfection/Xavier had a hate boner for her as well but I can't remember why and don't see much involving it. But that doesn't really matter.
