these people all imitate the same preacher's voice when they get hot and bothered. it's like 'now that *we* all agree, we have to talk about *them*.' always an appeal to outrage as moral clarity, hysterical urgency like disagreeing is pointing a knife at them, and they love ham-fisted use of speechwriting techniques like anaphora. sometimes also an appeal to righteous violence clouded with frustration that they can't say it directly, but also kind of getting off on the fact they're pretending to be above saying it.
this guy spices it up with dog fucking at the end. haven't seen that before.
New and horrifying breeds of demagogues for a new and horrifying world.

Byuu might've made for a good Kiwi, had the Tranny Grooming Force not got to him.

I did my own thing, just eyeballing it and using the little I know in image restoration and ended up with something similar, I do not know how to verify if it is valid though,

I did run it through a website and it did identify that I had flipped it upside down and gave me
Type:Ucc128
Signature: GS1 (96)136303

But I suspect it just identified the format and didn't confirm if it had information of if it was just random garbage.

The more I learn about Byuu, the more I understand his desire to disappear. What I don't quite get is the extortion/entrapment stunt he pulled on Null. Sure, he could just be firing one last broadside at a hated enemy before vanishing into the mist, but doesn't it make his whole scheme so much harder to pull? It seems totally unnecessary since all he would need to do is post a suicide note on Twitter or elsewhere blaming Kiwi Farms, then ghost. If he really didn't care that much about his thread, then why would he over extend himself by fucking with Null directly?

The only good explanation I can think of is that his "friends" talked him into it, and he needed to satisfy them in order to secure their help.

I don't know that KF would have been of interest to him, but politely and formally dunking on a game journo for not doing their damn job is good stuff.

Just a reminder, that Marcan has two Twitter profiles. I didn't see it mentioned so if this is duplicate info I'm sorry

He's the one character in this ordeal that there's a lot of information on. If we get autistic enough, it could lead somewhere
Recently privated, it was live at least a month ago.
Wonder who Blargg talked to.
Marcan, of course. They're all circle jerking in private Discords/IRC together.

"Yet when it comes to all of this ... I really feel that I've already accomplished more than I ever wanted to or thought I could on SNES emulation. I no longer feel like I am facing strong challenges that force me to grow, but rather an infinite stream of tedium and maintenance. I'm not saying I necssarily hate programming, just that it's lost its magic.

The most fun I've been having lately has been in attempting to improve my Japanese knowledge through some fan translations of manga (holy hell is that language a nightmare to learn), and getting a bit back into drawing again.

So, what I hope to do from this point out is to start winding down on my programming projects, and focus on new ventures while I'm still young enough to take on large new challenges in fields I have little to no experience in. Again, I don't mean to seek to abandon my projects, but to get them more suitable for a slower development pace, so that I can start branching out into new areas."
These homo's in the emu-scene were way more of a hassle than KF ever was. They constantly fuck with and pressure devs about releasing shit. It's hard to blame them for not wanting their personal feeds filled with "ETA when" and other shitty memes. The whole Homebrew software scene is cancer. Byuu had a significant amount of social pressure to work on this shit, and he did not seem to take it well.

Hobbies are shit when they turn into obligations and unpaid employment. It's hard to blame him for the disappearing act. That's just one more reason:

Haven't seen these Hector tweets addressed yet, they're quite funny as well (see archive for full tweet chain)

"Go ahead and verify Near's death yourself. Good luck. Don't think the police or media in Japan will be any luck :smug:"
"Wait didn't you say you had independently verified his death with the police yourself?"
"THAT'S ENOUGH CONSPIRACY THEORIES - ANYONE ELSE WHO REPLIES IS GETTING BLOCKED AND HIDDEN"

The more this guy says, the more he hurts his case. If Near is actually dead he should probably just shut the fuck up about it

EDIT: Just to highlight the absurdity of what he is saying here: His claim is that he verified Near's death with the police because he was actually interviewed about it. He claims elsewhere he only had a few IRL interactions with Near:

So, aside from a couple of meet-ups, their relationship was primarily online- He is claiming the police actually dug through Near's phone/computer and selected Hector to go in and interview about what happened to Near? This really stretches his credibility IMO.

I've said it early on in the last thread, once someone gets the idea to use his emulators or make a new version based on whatever (KiwiSNES for example) he's gonna show his ghoulish face to make sure he keeps his emulator to himself
Nah, byuu seems to love the FOSS philosophy too much to genuinely care about somebody making a mod. A lot of the most famous features of bsnes come from other contributors.

My money is on us finding him trying and failing to update his github anonymously or making a fork because he has a history of not being able to walk away from projects. Remember that he retired 4 separate times in the last decade. The fact that he failed to finish that n64 emulator may eat away at him.

To play devil's advocate here, would it make sense for a detective to come to them about it if they were one of the few connections nearby trying to reach out?

My line of thinking: Near's tweets no doubt caused a ton of traffic to Near's social media, messenger services, email, etc.

The idea that they would be able to pick out a couple of people from that mess and quickly identify them as locals, and prioritize interviewing them over, say, those he knew at his job and ostensibly communicated with and saw in person every day, is a bit farfetched to me. What information could they have possibly provided to the police that they wouldn't have been able to glean from their correspondence given the fact that their relationship was primarily online?
