I wonder if he truly believes that his income is dependent on "hot new releases", or that's just an excuse for him to never change anything? Or both?

He wants OIC to be able to whale for him in his really specific way again. It’s pretty autistic how Coffee helps Phil lie to himself about having a huge fanbase, but he does it. He nearly gifted 1,000 subs on Twitch, and Phil expects us to believe they can break 200 without him.
The “hot new release” is a retarded cope. He’s outright admitting that he relies on flavor of the month “fairweather” fans and his content does a shit job at keeping people around and interested. So much for the “community” Phil says he’s fostered over the years.
How does a near two-decade long legacy fail at viewer retention? Could it be the content is a mountain of low-quality crap?
For now Phil will just have to lower the Membership Goal, again. I wish I could see the look on his face when he does it. Maybe 150 is more your fanbase’s speed, Phil?

Ever since he talked about this 10 year old plan the first time I've had a slight suspicion that DSP never told his parents how much he really makes, because who in their right mind would loan money to someone, even their own child, if they were heavily addicted to gambling?

There's been a recent study which showed that the underlying feeling behind narcissism is a deep sense of insecurity and to cope with it they big themselves up and have an inflated sense of self-worth. So yes, there is an element of Phil trying to convince himself that he's successful because he's deeply insecure.
