Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Russia may have used naughty weapons like mines and cluster bombs but they never dropped nukes or mass destruction devices. At the time the USSR was locked in an ideological war with the west and while they were very arrogant in storming the 'undefeatable' Afghanistan, as we've seen in this thread, Afghanistan were helped by the west.

Post 9/11, with Charlie hebdo, the bataclan etc, how many nations would shed a tear for a country linked to terrorism, terrorists and Islamic extremists? None. That's the major advantage China has over every other nation that has gone in to afghan; nobody will give a shit how much force they use. The west may need kit to prove Ali Al salem is a terrorist before dropping a smart missile on him to only take him out and not the innocents, China can just carpet bomb the area.

China wouldn't use nukes on fucking Afghanistan either. The Soviets were quite brutal in Afghanistan despite the condemnation from the western world at the time and all it got them was their puppet state lasting slightly longer than what it's looking like GOA will. Maybe I'm just buying into the long term 4D chinaman chess meme a little too much but I don't think they're going to get significantly involved in Afghanistan at all after watching both the USSR and US fall flat on their faces trying. They're more likely to just cut a deal with the Taliban than anything.

They won't nuke Afghanistan, it was an extreme example to highlight my point, maybe it was heavy handed.

China will have to get involved if they want that opium, oil and rare earth metals that are knocking about in the country.

I'm not a China fan, I hope they don't genocide more people like they have so far (allegedly). I just have no faith that the west or Russia, will intervene if China go mucking fental and go a little bit shooty and bomby.

Not openly no, but its amazing how frequently US-made weapons go missing and wind up in the hands of the enemies of our enemies, don't you think? Plus no doubt the Russians are going to get involved since they too want a piece of that pie, and China doesn't share. And with all the AKM's and RPG's already in country, who's going to notice a few thousand more? You don't have to "win" in Afghanistan. Only make the price of extracting those resources more than they're worth, even to the Chinese. If their Afghanistan books are in the red, and I don't mean from the butcher's bill, they're going to quietly leave citing some bullshit feel-good reason that lets them pretend they're saving face.

I believe your average Westerner's give a fuck meter for the Afghan populace was drained years ago, when we spent over a decade sending blood and treasure to help make them a functional society, but they kept indicating that they would be perfectly happy or would actively prefer living under a medieval Islamic warlord dictatorship.

I agree. Thousands of Russian and anti-China nations will lose weapons in the Afghanistan region. China can extract that shit cheaper than any other nation.

You've got it. If a headline read "100 afghani civilians killed in cross-fire between Chinese and taliban forces" most of the west would be more interested to know if they got the terrorists.

Tim Pool pointed out that the Dems are stuck with Kamala because primarying the first black, woman president will not look good to anyone.

This is going to be a wild ride as the situation deteriorates over the next couple of years.

I don't think so. The left has a double standard. If they want to throw Copmala under the bus, they'll do so. They're not above lying and gaslighting. When the time comes to get rid of Copmala, they'll just have the media, their propaganda branch, lie and lie to cover their asses.

They practically casted Hillary Clinton to the waste-side after her 2016 loss. They basically use her for clips to strengthen the Democrats as the moral party against Trump. Such a damn shame. No matter how much influence you THINK you have, the media and politics would determine that.
