RIP XBand. That was a glorious 3 months before my dad found out I was using his credit card. Some jackwad got it working a couple of months ago and did a demonstration on YT but never published their work. Blatant crime against humanity IMO.

It's funny, there actually is a troon working on restoring XBAND, though not in the way you described. This person was working on it way before any of the current Byuu drama though so I doubt they are related unless all troons are a hivemind (probably).

People still disagree over whether the second half of Death Note is trash or amazing. There is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to L's replacements. Personally, I'd like to see an ending where instead of building up towards a carefully calculated win, Near has a BPD meltdown on the internet and needlessly grovels before L-Kira for validation before straight up 100% doorknob suiciding himself to death. Now that would have been a satisfying victory against Kira.

I wonder if this “suicide” is just Byuu killing off the persona of Byuu. It’s done all it’s ever going to do.

Proceeding this way allows him to re-emerge as another persona. He’s likely built up in the last few years. And it’s a parallel move.

He could either start a new emulation related project and try again (maybe this time to make more $$) or just anonymously he a contributor to other projects.

If he truly has no friends, then this is much much easier. Having no friends also helps justify - either fake or real - the death. Almost no one is affected.

So it is a troon. Noice. I am aware of this restoration, but I figured perhaps Byuu could make it more usable, and avoid the modem part.
