What is RUST?
RUST is unlike anything really on the market at the moment. There are alot of games attempting to copy rust & its style but they fail miserably & are normally shit (see DayZ's new base building for instance as well as its atrocious combat).
It is a massively multiplayer online survival / building game with heavy emphasis on raiding & PVP with other players being THE threat on the average server (apart from NPCs that spawn only at pre-designated areas aroung the map). Think of it DayZ without zombies with excellent & intuitive base building mechanics & fun engaging combat.
To start with you spawn naked (yes fully if you have nudity turned on) on a beach & then it is up to you to farm / craft / build / steal / fight your way to endgame. With no end goal in mind it is up to the players to make their own stories & adventures, whether that be in a designated safe zone or killing nakeds on the beach that is entirely up to the player. Why Is the Game Interesting
The reason i personally like RUST is the unparrelled ability to troll people & just be as toxic as humanly possible, an example would be door-camping (sitting outside someone's base until they come out) with a double barrel shotgun until he has his door open then rushing in & stealing his base while he calls you a Nigger as he rages quits. The entertainment value cannot be understated & there has been a few controversies in the past over (((ToXiC))) players.
As mentioned above the gunplay is fantastic & the Gameplay loop is fun but if playing solo i highly recommend playing on a duo max team server or you will get your cheeks clapped by a Korean Zerg (5+ players) on main.

Developers & History
Rust is developed by Facepunch which is headed up by Garry Newman on Garrys Mod fame which was a mod for Half Life 2 to turn the game & especially its physics engine into a fun sandbox mod. This took off almost immediately & to date is known as one of the most successful mods ever only behind the likes of DOTA. To this end & to expand from having to rely on Gmod for support the first build of RUST was released in December 2013 & has been in ongoing active development ever since adding new content etc. To go along side of these projects Facepunch launched the Facepunch Forums which was one of the most infamous places on the web while it was active for how easy it was to get banned, Jannies patrolled the threads like the hall monitors they are & people were arbitrarily banned left & right. This got so bad at one point they were banning more people than were signing up to the site, this behaviour is carried on today by sights like ResetERA:
Controversies
RUST has been involved in a few controversies over the years with one of the first ones in my memory being the hot water they got into when they decided to have full nudity in game instead of giving the players shirts etc which annoyed a few puritanical players etc but nothing major.
The second controversy was when studio founder Gary Newman said: "just like in real life, you are who you are – you can’t change your skin colour or your face" referring to when they locked any sort of character customisation to prevent "Toxicity" & "Hatespeech" against female / Black (Nigger) player models as well as to promote (((Diversity))). The latest controversy came at the expense of many large streamers & YouTubers started playing together on a server ran by a streamer group called Offline TV (linked to their Wikitubia Article). This group consists of the likes of notrious Twitch E-Whore Pokimane who has a whole thread on her (& more on Offline TV from a Kiwis point of view) which you can see here. Where they began playing on a curated server away from the average RUST expierence. They invited on RUST youtubers like Stimpee (video above so i think you can probably tell what happened next) & Ser Winter who is another well known long time RUST creator. Who began to play the game like they normally would, IE shit on everyone & troll the fuck out of them because they have thousands of hours & the other 'people' on the server have 10 - 50 at the most. This results in infamous dumpster fire streamer, Trainwreck, sperging out at Ser Winter & getting the Jannies to ban him.
This results in a back & forth in which Ser Winter presents his side of the story & makes Trainwreck look like a crybaby loser (which he is), see the spoiler below for the nearly two hour response video:
TLDR: Fun Game with lots of spergs playing who will call you all manner of lovely names such as: Cunt, Nigger, Porch Monkey etc

And thats all for now, this is my first proper non shitpost thread so would appreciate any feedback as this is all researched on my own. Would love to see this thread develop, so let me know what you guys think. If the thread gets enough attention i might start up a KF rust server & have no rules apart from no hacking etc so we can have the true Rust toxicity experience.
