If Ralph has truly been in contact with Faith about his son every day, and wants to support his son.... I don't see why he shouldn't be allowed to. He's doing what he's supposed to do. I think Perspicacity's point is more "if he truly wants to try and she wants to let him in, it's their business," which is a valid point that I would agree with in most other cases and most other venues. That said: ain't nobody here with a cursory understanding of the lore gonna give Ethan the benefit of the doubt on this

My take is using Xander as the entry point to analysis. I genuinely think he will be better off not learning any lessons that Ethan could impart on him. I've known women who got rid of long term partners when it came time to consider whether they wanted a child half raised by the dimwit in question and adopting any of the dimwit's values. While the Vickers camp didn't pre-empt the current situation with that kind of critical thinking and foresight, they do have the opportunity to move forward in the best interest of Xander. What a fucking nut job Faith is, holy shit. While giving the baby up for adoption to another family would probably be ideal it’s an obvious lie she’s telling to get Ralphy to man up and move her and baby to Virginia to play happy family.
