Man. I love when the discussion connection between subcultures and troons came up. I've got a friend who used to be a regular to goth/industrial music scene back in the 90s and it's full of troons. But anyone with a brain cell would know that Genesis Porridge was a creepy sex pest like any sideshow here, from the word of Cosey Fanni Tutti herself. And just like Clymer, Genesis trooned out to escape charges.

I talked about Sopor Aeternus here many pages back, a really weird and mysterious subject, but I don't really know if his troon act is simply performative because he hide his irl identity well. He kept releasing photoshopped dickless photos, but that at least suggested that he never got the chop himself. (But unlike Genesis, Sopor came across to me as just a mostly harmless kooky HSTS)

PL - I used to be semi involved with a goth group in bongland, no actual troons, but a lot of people there are milky manchildren who are very drama prone and acts 2edgy4me at 40+ years of age. They made cool art, sure, but it does look like a lot of subcultures are simply a manifestation of societal alienation and part of the population with mental issues seeking a place to belong. And to what we know about troons, it adds up a lot. It's glaringly obvious that gender dysphoria has a lot of social contagion aspects and a symptom of underlying mental problems and cultural based expression than being an entity of its own. And you can see it where in the third worlds, most troons are largely just HSTS catty gays who are otherwise extroverted and socially adept - but the broader society is homophobic. While in the first, developed world, we started to get more Mr.Robot lonely autists and loony subcultures people trooning out.

They aren't comfortable about themselves and believe gender is the answer - especially in the place where crossdressing and gender non-comformity is celebrated. But unlike punk, goths, and all that shit. Troonism is a legalised identity, you can legally changed gender marker and play pretend in the institution way. While subcultures are never legit in this sense, and treated as just a lifestyle. They don't really have the power to make anyone bow down to them like troons.

Hyperpop troons (or just tranny meme culture in general) made me wonder if they're somewhat self aware. The whole deal of hyperpop music is a representation of the alienating, lonely and artificial the world has become. Like a cyberpunk nightmare that's finally arrived.... And what they talk in these music just made it seem like gender is an addiction like drug addicts talks about addiction. A faint feeling that they're ruining themselves but couldn't get themselves to quit.

It's pretty much analagous to men who have mommy complexes. There's still a desire for power and control but in a way that allows them to be lazy and let their poor schmuck of a partner do all the work, in and out of the bedroom. Such relationships have a tendency to be incredibly abusive because these men have ridiculously specific and high expectations and will emotionally manipulate and punish their partners if they don't meet them.
