As the director of said film (and a lot of other WIP) Yes I knew about the allegations. I'd also been friends with John for awhile at that point and I knew one of his accusers personally and knew she was lying/exaggerating for financial gain (weird she also was also involved in the outing of the loud house creator at Nick) and I've also seen the mountain of evidence behind John's innocence that buzzfeed refused to release (notice the parents were omitted? Buzzfeed is a joke, national Enquirer part 2. really). If John K were a Pedo, ID never work with the guy or support him (Like That POS convicted child rapist Victor Sylva who made Jeepers Creepers- I love horror, but will never see one of his films). John was one of my heroes as a kid, and when I got the chance to hire him, I was thrilled and horrified at how this would effect my documentary (not pro or anti Trump BTW, Utopia Mean Nowhere is about me making a neutral political doc while fighting stage 3 cancer). John was great to work with, delivered the poster on time, and the animated opening credits came out awesome (trailer with animation om youtube)
The night of its premiere, protesters shut off the power to the theater, and became violent, calling my film hate speech, and then Amazon refused to release it because it had a cartoon character with a firearm and a cartoon image of trump which they deemed inappropriate for kids and The board deemed John Ks poster unartistic and they refused release and then pulled the rest of my films as well from their site. Freedom of speech is all we have left, and as an Indie filmmaker, Im shocked at the hostility towards strangers (Im Orthodox Christian, maybe its just my beliefs, but people deserve the benefit of the doubt) I also had several people stalk me and my wife AND my daughter, one who threatened to murder me because of something she read online which wasn't true about my film. So, Im happy to report that he's not a Pedo just an eccentric guy who isn't very PC and is terrible at defending himself outside of the world of cartoon art) What really happened with him and Robyn is more complex then either of them will ever discuss, and lets remember he didn't even break any laws at the time (pedophilia? Hes never even been accused of that? Teenagers are not in the same category as five year Olds). Now that one of his accusers admitted to lying on her social media account and another had a youtube channel taken down due to cyberbullying, I wonder when will this overblown hated will end? The suffering I've seen that man go through is heartbreaking, and he's really got a big heart underneath the gruff exterior. If he really was a monster 30 years ago, hes not anything like that now. The John K I know is there for you when you need him, treats people respectfully, and won't kill a bee (he literally saves bumble bees daily) and is a genius artist who's a strict teacher, but rarely wrong in his criticisms, and hes great to work with, loaded with ideas and hes like a member of the family.

The literal "saving bees daily" part is when I knew the story was bogus. Like a narcissistic such as himself would GAF.

Incidentally, could anyone tell me why he would write an apology if he didn't do anything wrong? If John's as innocent, pure and saintly as this guy says, he clearly didn't need to apologize.

This doesn’t apply to John since he is a confirmed sex pest, but people are being pressured into apologizing for harmless shit all the time now whenever someone digs up an off color tweet from a decade ago.

Incidentally, you notice how he talks about how there were protesters trying to shut his movie down? Surely we'd have heard about that somehow... but we're the only people who even know his film exists.
