The closest thing Michigan had to a "badass waterpark" was in Michigan Adventure- and the one in Ohio Seaworld was pretty good too. AFAIK both are defunct, and you'd have to go to like, Florida or the Caribbean to get a "badass waterpark" experience these days.

On a side note, there was a water park close to my area growing up that was Action Park levels of safety concerns. Pretty sure more than one person died in the wavepool, and I personally almost flew off a slide- wound up slamming back down and bruising my hips instead.
