minutephysics' style is really obnoxious and comes off so unnatural, like it's made by an alien

There are also a lot of random YouTube science channels that just seem to spring up out of nowhere that all have the same style, use the same stock videos, that basically just read a Wikipedia article. It seems like a pretty good grift considering they get a shitload of views but they all have that obnoxious preachy le reddit XD woke edge to them that shows up from time to time that kind of just sours the rest of the video

As for some other YouTubers I do watch that I don't hate, but still have something to say:

Tom Scott's interesting, but his older videos have him speaking in this breathless style that was pretty irritating, so I passed him up ages ago and only started watching him fairly recently, now that he's not doing that anymore. Though I don't know, there's always been something... off, about Tom Scott. But I can't ever put my finger on exactly what it is.

The King of Random went downhill after Calli joined the team. She's not, like, a bad person or anything, she just calls too much attention to herself and doesn't really fit with the channel topic. But, it's a very different channel now that's not all about blowing stuff up in microwaves, especially ever since Grant died in his hangliding accident last year.

I've always loved this kind of household science kinda stuff, especially when I was a kid, but I dunno. TKOR is just so clickbaity and toothless these days, but I don't really wanna call it bad just yet. It's just.. kinda boring and disappointing too often. But they're a mainstream YouTuber, and as far as I've seen they've never been woke or taken some shitty preachy angle, so kudos to them.

Curious why Kurzgesagt is so bad. In the history/science communities I'm part of that channel is very highly regarded. Meanwhile the Infographics Show, which blatantly copies their style but has far worse production values/research standards, is hated.

Styxhexenhammer666. I had watched him regularly for a couple months, but then I just got sick of the guy. Couldn't say precisely why. Maybe it was the beard-stroking, hmm-how-very-interesting kind of vibe I was getting after awhile. Then again, I almost always get tired of Youtubers I would follow. They settle into this repetitive rut and it bores me.

I'm just about to stop following the guy, started to me as a breath of fresh air among the right wing side of youtube with the simple vlogs over the sea of overproduced "SJW FAILS #57 Feminists get OWNED with FACTS and LOGIC - Like, Comment and Subscribe! Donate to my Patreon" types, but recently i'm noticing an unpleasant side to his personality.

Some time ago he released a vid, dont remember which, but it was related to football i think, in which near the end Styx went on a small rant about the normies, and how dare they have different diversions from him, all wrapped up nicely with a "these idiots are the same people that won't switch over to alt tech from youtube" bow on it.

I heard stuff about the guy being a grifter but that's what sealed it for me, dude somehow believes he's superior to the non political audiences that ain't switching out of youtube cause they have no reason to, and i wouldn't be surprised if he blames the normies for his dwindling views

Also claiming to be a "workhorse" because he sits in front of a laptop recapping internet news for an average total of 30 mins per day

I stopped following Styx when he decided to slap fight with Null instead of doing his job and entertaining others.

Well, it did produce some laughs, but the fact of the matter is, Styx's takes fried a lot of what normal cells I have left.

That's ultimately what it comes down to with all YouTubers, you put yourself on the stage, stay in your lane and do your fucking job.

I watch him only because he has access to the most exotic and rare cars
But he sometimes says really dumb shit or makes a very obvious mistake, which makes it look like he either doesnt know much about cars (which is doubtful tbh) or for angry sperging in comments under the vid to drive engagement or whatever, and its very irritating
Also he sometimes painfully overstretches descriptions of some very minutae, boring details, like 80's car having window cranks, yet spends a whole of 5 seconds showing the engine or some other more important things.
And his production quality has never been too high, which I guess is ok for a car youtuber, but seems to have actually went downhill since some time ago. I think he used to have a cameraman, yet later just uses a tripod for filming himself. Not sure why tho, his vids get shitton of views, he must be getting some decent money from that, is he this stingy?


And Anthony from LTT
I know everyone praises him for managing to switch from back office techguy to an on screen talent, but I really dont like to watch him, he has no charisma and is not enterntaining

OneyPlays is a collective of creatives who are pursuing their passion and are funny organically on the side, and SuperMega is a pair of guys who need to be funny to put food on the table. Maybe Chris's primary income is his channel, but it's not all he has.

SuperMega is much more beholden to their audience because that's all they have. If you grow an audience of people who will cancel you for saying the faggotword, then you have to stop saying the faggotword.

He ruins every piece of media he touches by introducing it to his fans. Words like "liminal" or "thalassophobia" are nowadays reddit tier lingo partly thanks to him. His most famous exposure has been hovewer his video "Can You Name One Object In This Photo?", which is ground zero for millions of 14 year olds listening to and making weird fan content of the album Everywhere at the End of Time. One can only imagine how it feels to have your niche community taken away by children who cry to distorted ballroom music. In other words, he has become the Behind the Meme of art.

Eh, I don't subscribe to his channel, but I've occasionally found some of his content a bit interesting. But on the subject of hot topic Reddit lingo like liminal, I watched some videos on liminal spaces and quite frankly I don't see what the appeal is. Sure, some of them are a bit awkward and scary (like abandoned houses), but seeing photos of empty offices or hallways doesn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. I really don't get it. The hype around liminal spaces just seems forced.

I agree, i only watch Dougs videos if its some really odd or rare car like the convertible gwagon. Regular Car Reviews the guy in PA does a way better job and his videos have humor, i also seem to enjoy Hoovies Garage and the Car Wizard alot for some reason.

Oh and that anthony guy from ltt should not be infront of a camera. I dont know why he's still clinging on to his long hair when its fucking super thin and gross looking. The one episode Linus goes to his staff's apartments and houses, Anthony lives in like a basement full of old video game consoles.
 
I can’t stand Renegade Cut.

I remember accidentally stumbling upon his content when I was trying to look up some obscure piece of Russian animation (I still am mystified that this happened), so that likely amplified my disdain towards his content right off the bat.

A combination of his pretentiousness and being overall smug in his voice, alongside mentioning capitalism every 20 seconds made me tune out of his “critique” of Disney. He comes off as yet another privileged westerner who wants to come off as being smarter than he actually is.

ASAP Science is one of those channels that started out alright to ending up being really shitty. He went from answering Cliché questions that you could get from other sources of the internet to making videos about stupid unnecessary topics while spewing out political correctness bullshit. The people who run the channel looked like Cliché Hipster Soyboy Cuck Nerds too. I completely lost interest in them when I found out they were part of Creators for Change.
