Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

Subscribed to PlaguedMoth on patron just to see how he handled his "Infamous Four" series.
His narration if fucking abysmal to say the least. I was bored out of my mind with his video on ChristChurch.

His video on 1444 on patreon and spent most of it complaining about the room's decore and bitching about people getting the type of gun used wrong.

From Moth's last community post.

I mean, he only has himself to blame for YouTube taking away his ads. He should've known trying to upload a video about the Christchurch shooting was a bad idea because there's no other videos about it on YouTube except news reports. Plus every video he made would be demonetised anyway because of his half-assed censorship of all the gory stuff.
Given every website tries to censor info about mass shootings unless it's news media nearly those videos get disliked bombed cause people smell the bullshit

Moth and other youtubers that cover gore videos and such really make the content seem worse than it really is, and they sometimes spread a lot of misinformation, like the Snuff R73, which was just a MDPOPE rip-off, something you can find out in minutes of research, but they make it to be some illegal depraved shit that everyone's afraid to talk about. Wendigoon has the same issue.

Well it is pretty depraved in general, regardless of legality. Cold raven did a debunk of r73 and a debunk of that horse sex movie from the wendigoon iceberg.

Not sure if this counts (as it's a fictional episodic series) but Gemini Home Entertainment always spooks me good.

It's a series shot in the style of a series of informative VHS tapes that prelude the end of the world due to cosmic, eldritch forces
Seconding this. GHE has real Local 58 vibes and I love the bootleg-esque/public access television aesthetic. Yeah it's overplayed - but when its done right it makes a series ten times more enjoyable.
There's also another less well-known series called The Minerva Alliance that's basically the same style, but with a different story.

Fun Fact: This one video of theirs tricked both me and my friends into thinking it was real for a few moments because we'd been watching real creepy EAS Broadcasts after seeing one in Nexpo's videos, and had forgotten to turn off autoplay after we left to grab more beers.

We came back into the room only to hear incredibly ominous line of "There is no shelter that is above ground that will protect you from this storm, regardless of its construction.”, and proceeded to get really freaked out and confused.

The unusual wording and duration of the featured warning suggests that a Type-IV supercell had formed at the time of broadcast. However, radar and satellite imagery, as well as records of warnings issued by the National Weather Service, show no evidence of this event occurring at the date and time indicated by the S.A.M.E. codes. At the time of this writing, no known reports of an accidental EAS activation or intentional broadcast intrusion have been found.
On the thunderstorm spectrum, supercells are the least common type of thunderstorm, but they have a high propensity to produce severe weather, including damaging winds, very large hail, and sometimes weak to violent tornadoes. What makes a supercell unique from all other thunderstorm types is that it contains a deep and persistent rotating updraft called a mesocyclone. If the environment is favorable, supercell thunderstorms can last for several hours.

Remember friends: NEVER drink and watch EAS videos on YouTube

All horror channels will eventually become Dross. Once the heavy hitters are out of the way they'll be left scrapping instagram posts and clips from urban exploration just to meet their quota. I am convinced no horror channel that posts short form videos this often can last more than a few months until they have to go dumpster diving and become unwatchable.

There's a ton of really fucked up shit out there in history, the thing is that you have to go out and dig, like Wikipedia rabbit holes, looking at those sources, reading the books, etc. As has been stated a few times already, most of these people just read a Wikipedia page about the same 30 stories or so. Again, I shill Dark Histories because the man does his research, is earnest, and humble as fuck. I hadn't heard of most of the stuff he's done.

Thats true but if you are making weekly 10 minute videos you are still blowing through those topics very fast and not every topic is going to be as interesting. In a year, thats 52 videos, by the end you are done with the mkultras, junko furutas and dilatov passes so you start spiraling into more obscure cases which naturally won't be as viral or sensational and eventually you end up were they all end up. Covering recent news stories and shitty args that can at least pull enough views to keep you from going back to the day job you quit last year to fo yt full time.

I don't know, I've thought about starting one just for the fuck of it. I know about all these obscure fucking stories and it's like...what the fuck do you do with that lol? Maybe if I at least attempt to tell others I'll get some use of it other than being "that guy who knows weird random shit."

Basically most channels that are horror right now, make a video on a ARG that is overrated, has like 1500 videos on and then get 2 Million views and then just then call it a day.

This might not really count here since it's arguably in a different genre, but Chubbyemu's channel is a pretty good place to start if you find medicine to be an interesting subject. The guy who runs it is a doctor, and many of the cases he showcases are ones that he's either personally seen, or are taken directly from current events taking place. Occasionally cases are combined to allow for more information to be shown on the biological processes at work, but everything's sourced and cited as well.
While most of the medical cases discussed are a case of being unlucky, doing something routine that just so happens to end in serious problems because of something the patient wasn't aware of, a significant chunk of the others deal with the results of patent stupidity. It's both shocking and fascinating to see just how quickly the body can get fucked over if you don't treat it with the respect it deserves, such as this moron who decided to consume several times the maximum recommended dose of caffeine at once.

Talk about true horror, I'm not a squeamish person at all but this gave me nightmares.
This is one of those videos where you're in another tab while listening or "reading" the comments.

Normies have ruined iceberg meme, but this... I just don't get it. I though the point would be "first level is something that was thought to be lost, but eventually was found, next we go to something hardly accessible, then to something that certainly exists, but can't be found/someone owns it and keeps it to themselves, then something truly lost and in the end something, that probably doesn't even exist in the first place". But nope - it's just all over the place. What is the point then? Just talk about lost gameshows.

I do agree that the iceberg is kinda all over the place, but I liked the video. Reminded me of how much I fucking hated Fear Factor, and how baffling it is for that show to have ever aired in the first place.
