One of the worst things about Chantel is that she has no interest in learning. Not even talking about her health but just the way she approaches every subject in her life. Take youtube. This is her sole income and she doesn't bother to learn the rules or terms of service. She is constantly asking the chat if she is allowed to do stuff on youtube. Or a better example is marijuana. Chantel loves weed but can't be bothered to do the bare minimum research. Chantel doesn't even know how to inhale her joints properly.
Agreed - she's again binary on any learning. It's either she's ignorant and lazy asking Peetz when they've done day trips to museums to explain things to her or she does "research" on stuff and uses that condescending sugar voice while just reciting half-ass information. She's also pretty good with filtering out vital information "Oh the doctor told me but I forgot, I think I took notes.. not sure where they are... I'll try to find them". If anything it's amazing to see an adult human running on nothing but pure 'instinct' based on immediate gratification. She has no idea what she's doing day to day, hour to hour. SHe can't think ahead to make a grocery list for the week or even know what she 'craves' for dinner - and this "What should I order?" shit is getting really old.
The most apparent frustrating aspect is she sleeps, gets high, eats, sleeps and saying it's all depression. Well, if the depression is that bad, and you are on anti-depressants and a cocktail to self-medicate, you're going to be fucked in the head. It's amazing she's still sticking to the "I didn't buy coke in Montreal" when she went there several times and then the whole "I'm still buying and using so I went to the ER as chest pains scared me and I've not been on my warfarin". She wants help but doesn't want to do therapy, wait for an inpatient opening or go to any recovery support groups like SMART. She's just going to do what she's doing and the only focus on her brain is how to lose weight and still eat her favorite foods, and now added in with whatever self-medication she wants to do.
I also think we've probably seen Chantal on shrooms before, just she was discrete about it. She's had different kinds of highs in these various live streams at all and odd hours of the day and night and doing weird shit. The sound of the tumbler and Sam in the closet is an intruder. The night of dresses and wigs. The constant need to put make-up on at fucked up hours and think she's a sesssy kitten.
As to the door knock, I am not on board with the Peetz staged the knock theory. I think someone is watching her, getting upset that she's just going further down the rabbit hole and trying to convey "If you get high, the cops will be called" not realizing when someone is in a downward spiral and doesn't want help, you let them downward spiral. The best thing to tell Chantal right now is "Please, proceed". KJ would be that stupid to think annoying the cops, the neighbors, Peetz, and Chantal with these suspected wellness checks. I do think it's funny she was wearing the same shirt in the spaghetti wellness check.... so maybe they don't like her shirt. Who knows at this point.
ETA: I also think her being a traveler would be hysterical - as mentioned in a previous comment, yea her booking a flight (what's the difference of a layover and a direct flight? Her enting a car? Driving on the opposite side of the road and car? Trying to navigate another language? Simply finding the boarding gate? Yea - I'd like to see that.
This is a woman who insisted on doing delicious gourmet level home-cooked meals yet can't peel a potato without taking half of the potato off because she doesn't know the knob part on the top is to remove the eyes so she just keeps slicing into the potato, and thinks a marinara sauce has tomato soup and ketchup in it.
It would be easier to overlook some of her shit if she simply tried to be better. You like Thai curries? Learn how to make it and you'll save money, have the aromas in your home, and have a batch instead of a portion for half the price. Nope it's always "I don't feeeeel like it".
Everything is about what she feels - though she never gets the feeling "this is bad and/or wrong". She does not have that filter and why she will always make the worst possible decision.
