Good Youtube ‘Documentary’/‘Information’ channels - Get your Learn On.

Filmmaker IQ has a lot of informative videos about the history and science behind film techniques and other stuff associated with movies (even stuff like popcorn and how pets perceive our entertainment), as well as a few videos about the history of certain movie studios, like Paramount and a video on William Fox (he's still working on a video about the post-Fox Fox, the one Mickey Mouse got his gloved hands on).

Rick Beato
If you've ever wondered why music sounds like it does, Rick is really good at breaking down well-known songs to almost a molecular level. He's unable to monetise most of his videos because he spends so much time deconstructing chords in popular songs, which makes me respect him even more.
I've watched some of his content and found them to be informative, but haven't subscribed. But, here's an underrated music channel with a guy that goes the full nine yards with mini-documentaries about songs and albums, going so far as to tracking down old school musicians like Dennis DeYoung of Styx or Cindy Wilson from the B-52's. He's called Professor of Rock, and unlike that spastic soyboy Fantano, this guy openly remains apolitical and interviews a variety of classic artists.

And because he's an older guy, he often gives empirical anecdotes about the songs in particular, like how he remembers buying it on cassette tape as a teenager or recording it off the radio for the first time. I'm not as old as he is, but I can definitely relate to a lot of his stories and opinions. He'll, I remember being a preteen and scraping my money together to get a Weird Al Yankovic CD in the '90s!

I agree, Professor of Rock is a great channel. His passion for music from '60s through '90s is infectious. I love the way he's able to make videos with almost an entire copyrighted song in it, yet somehow manage to not hit any content matches due to the way it's edited.

Adam's anecdotes and the way he uses language to paint a picture really add to it. Considering how many episodes he puts out a week (I'm guessing he hires someone to edit the videos), the consistently high quality is remarkable.

Jim Can't Swim, or JCS Criminal Psychology.

Goes over common interrogation procedures regarding high profile criminal investigations. Shits real good
I like these videos too, I just don't understand why they divided their content into two channels. They have exactly the same structure and narration, it feels so redundant.

Their second identical channel:

EDIT:

I think I know the answer. I watched their video about the Alek Minassian case (the incel who killed 10 people in Canada using his van), and at the end of the video, the narrator said that the accused trial would be set some time at the end of 2020....what? This already happened!

I believe this channel is for episodes they deem not very good, so they dump there instead of featuring it in the main channel. Just my guess.

The video is still fantastic though.

My favorite of his is his Prince Andrew interview video. Does anyone know why the video is unlisted by chance?

If you like learning about astronomy and space, SEA should be right up your alley - he's made a wide variety of episodes on different aspects of space, ranging from the planets of the solar system to the Boötes void and the search to uncover the Great Attractor. Here's a video going over some of the exotic types of stars, including hand-sized electroweak stars, half-black hole, half-white hole Q-stars and the theoretical dead iron stars that might exist near the end of the universe.

Know it's kinda of a Necro response, but I believe JCS regularly delists videos and Patreon hey the full back catalog, but old stuff will occasionally pop back up into listed, maybe on accident.

So I came across this channel Only Human when I was looking for the trauma that awakened my interest in medical horrors titled 101 Things Removed from the Human Body. It's hosted in the UK and its description reads, "Only Human celebrates and explores the unique and personal qualities we all have. Our channel offers a range of TV series and documentaries about human experiences and life journeys - while looking at the challenges life throws at us, turning ordinary people into everyday heroes."

Sounds harmless enough, may be full of glurge. Browsing through it, it looks like a decent host channel, least until I came across this rather lulzy "sex education" documentary miniseries called "My Sexual Fantasy" which is basically TMI Stunning and Brave™ sex fantasies by people who probably aren't actually getting laid on the regular for whatever reasons I simply can't imagine (the woman with dwarfism is just a sad case, let her have her wholesome wedding night fantasy).

And each fantasy gets analyzed by these "experts".

I didn't think this deserved its own thread, I just wanted a place to laugh at some of these Britbong fantasies. The rest of the channel looks alright, though it may be closer to TLC in content.

Hats Off Entertainment is just a damn good FilmGeek who talks about his love of primarily old movies specifically comedy.

He never needlessly makes the videos about himself, he's always on topic, and unlike other similar content creators he avoids criticizing old movies for having contemt that now falls under being politically incorrect. If you love film and enjoy learning about behind the scenes details I highly recommend his videos.

Surprised no one mentioned History Debunked

He also gives interesting insight about British history that he himself asks how it was never taught in public schooling education during his time in academia in the UK.

I came to recommend one of Simon Whistler’s many channels, but fair warning he seems to inspire either a lotta love or a lotta hate, not much in between.
