A lot of people thought Trump's mistake was that he was shitty at hiring people for his administration, and he was, but at the same time, who the fuck was he supposed to hire? Like 80% of his admin tried to undermine him at some point. Trump didn't have a lot of good options to begin with.

Patient advocates say having price transparency could better help Long Island residents understand what their insurance is willing to pay for before getting a big bill.
"Even with insurance, there's costs involved, and you may want to find out, here's my insurance, here's what my insurance will pay, could you tell me what the difference will be," says Ilene Corina, of the Pulse Center for Patient Safety.
Under the price transparency rule, hospitals must publicly post charges for at least 300 common services on their websites.

I mean, we know why; because there's literally no reason for it NOT to be. There's no free market. Also, if you have insurance, it's the insurance paying for most of it. So why shouldn't hospitals charge whatever they want? Why shouldn't it cost $80 for an Ibuprofen that you can buy 100 of at the grocery store for $4? There's no reason NOT to overcharge for everything, because it's not like the patients have much of a choice. I mean, I've seen some people just flat out refuse ambulances because they know vaguely that they are way too expensive, but if you NEED emergency care, you have no leverage to negotiate price.
