As much as I dislike incels/MGTOW, /r/FDS is straight up sociopathic. Nothing says "I'm gunna get mine!" and "I deserve to be loved!" by treating everyone like an object for your own personal gratification. It's kinda sad to think about but honestly, fuck them. They lead themselves to those conclusions because it's easier than admitting that they're the issue.
TBH, i think its adorable that women have those outlets, which also include romance novels, because it gives them a fantasy outlet not dissimilar to us as men with porn and action/scifi/shooter movies/games. It allows them to vent and fantasize an imaginary perfect (female) world among likeminded women. The worst is if they try to bring the fantasy into the real world, which Brittany attempts to do. It never ends well.
They teach each other how to gold dig and attract "High value" Men... basically men who are rich and handsome and with little to no flaws.
Handsome is a plus but not a requirement by most women. I openly admit i am ugly af but i have never had problems getting women (albeit it's a short list of only 7). Rich/confidence/high-status/fame/funny (combination of 1 or more of those) are what they are after. Tall(er) would usually be the only consistent physical requirement requested by women. Height becomes less critical if ur status/wealth/fame is higher, of course. This is usually why ugly rich guys have an arm around the hottest models. Love at first sight, i tell ya
This isn't an American thing, it's a human thing. We categorize everything on Earth to the nth degree. In every culture people are cliquey and exclusionary to outsiders. America just happens to have a more pronounced mix of people as cultures try and fail to assimilate with one another.
Fail is not the word. With a melting pot like the US it is expected that cultures will clash when assimilating at first. But historically cultures end up blending resulting in hybrids of the originals -- adopting elements, etc. Time is what is needed. It's like how languages are merely hybrids of others like the now dead language: Latin or our number system started out as Arabic. Or how neanderthals, altho went extinct, did cross-breed with humans -- yes, apparentyl the first recorded bestiality act occurred in Europe. So on the surface it may seem to fail from one who is less observant, but this is all expected because the reality is, something new (a hybrid) ends up growing from it. It just takes time. Humans, like the field of chemistry, is always in search of balance. As the idiom goes:
Rome wasn't built in a day. And funny enough, Rome too was a successful melting pot

.. it ultimlately collapsed due to far, far different reasons, of course.
