The selling point of these cards is literally that they feature diversity. The screencap I got for the card size to hand comparison was from a video of a woman's tarot card collection and she warned that quite a few of the card packs in her collection didn't feature diversity as if that would upset someone. She ranked this particular deck as her favourite because it jumps through all the SJW hoops.

As a side note there's a real emphasis on making things more diverse in the tarot community as a whole - most of them are dangerhair landwhales who use these things to give themselves and each other positive affirmations.

I'll give the benefit of the doubt that the japanese guy (going by the text on the art) got likely fooled on the use of light and shadows on the movies, which can sometimes make John similar to that shade in the drawing.
