Fanfiction Horrors

Fanfiction, as we all know, is usually just lexical manifestation of the author's particular flavour of autism, but sometimes it is taken to ming boggling levels. Now, while you can rightfully call erotic fantasies about real people creepy and objectifying, nowadays they're almost ubiquitous in fanfic:

But sometimes, people go past the point where it should have stopped and just keep going. Take, for example, this yaoi fanfic about real life Formula 1 racers:

You've read that right. 4.982.201 words.
To give you a visual reference, the entire Song of Ice and Fire series is currently at 1.842.762 words. The books stacked back to back look like this:

So, if this fanfic was printed, it would take about two and a half of these book stacks.
And the scariest part is that the latest update was just two days ago, so this thing is not even close to being finished. :stress:

It's longer than the (in)famous Subspace Emissary fic.

Nice to see you again, Kiwis. I have some terrible content for you (or a goldmine, depending on how you want to look at it).

Don't want to click that link? I don't blame you. That's why I took screenshots. Don't fucking say I didn't do anything for you.

oh no 1.PNG

oh no 2.PNG

I looked through the author's notes of a few of these and they actually have... fan art to go with them. No, I'm not linking it. Do it yourself, I already feel like I need to take a shower.

Also, lol

What a terrible day to have eyes.

Also, how should I archive content from AO3? Should I use the download function (which doesn't preserve comments), archive.md (remembering to hit "Show Entire Work" first), or something else?
When using archive.md for twitter, I know you can add:
/with_replies
to the end of the url for a specific post. Never tried it on AO3, but worth a shot. Driving by, not able to test atm.

ETA: Check this thread
