How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

I also like how he completely changed the subject so he wouldn't get called racist for calling Spike Lee an idiot for endorsing Bitcoin because Bob hates Bitcoin.
Does he hate bitcoin because he associates it with techbros from Sillicon Valley, because he is too stupid to understand how it works or just envy because he couldn't get a slice when no one was giving a shit about crypto?

Also, is spike lee's being paid in crypto or USD? Food for thought.

That's almost word for word how Bob put it. Did you listen to the podcast too?
Which one was it?

A combination of those, but mainly that he doesn't understand it and hates anything that makes him feel stupid.

I think it might also tie into his desire to be a billionaire some day so he assumes that if he does it through bitcoin, instead of having a billion dollars, he'll have 50 bitcoin or however it works in his moronic head.

Well, we could solve this problem, as well as his newfound love of socialism and communism, by lifting and re-locating him to Venezuela. He could have billions of Bolivars in his pocket and be part of the /woke/ working class.

I’ve seen that “Let people enjoy things” comic posted many times in response to any criticism of Star Wars, Marvel etc.
The comic was made with bad faith actors in mind. People with no genuine investment in the property. Not dissatisfied fellow fans. But that nuance is dead.
At least the RLM response "just consume product" is correctly used: be critical of the media products you consume, especially when they dominate the media landscape (like SW and Marvel)

Didn't Bob say once that he wants geek shit to completely consume the entertainment culture until it's the only thing left?
It's funny because he's so fat. A living metaphor for not knowing what's good for you, just wanting more.

The existence of Moviebob is just one thing that makes me think that geek shit going mainstream wasn't good for the culture in the long run.

It's also just resulted in franchises like Star Wars and Star Trek not feeling special anymore because they can't stop greenlighting and pumping out new movies and shows, with a very good portion of them being mediocre, or even downright betrayals of what made them good in the first place.

Being an acceptable geek today almost means that you have to be a consummate corporate ass-kisser.
If anything, this proves corporate creative teams are completely bankrupt of imagination these days. They can't think beyond a simple formula (e.g. hero+villain+snark=profit), and it doesn't help that audiences buy into that crap.

Yeah, once you've reached that part of the conversation you just have to post the rebuttal:

Both probably.

That tweet always speaks to Bob's need to force himself into a Twitter conversation even when he has nothing to say.

He could have said nothing and moved on, but he couldn't do that, so he decided to make some inane comment about a cane.

I wouldn't put it past him. It's exactly what's wrong with nerd culture, although there's no cure for it. Anything that becomes both niche and popular will eventually go mainstream

Bob - A man who knows how the CIA works take-downs of other countries, political debate, reviews marvel movies, how to bench 300 pounds, how to have threesomes in his high school poetry club fangirls, futurism, and how the Shadowrun future will roll - Yet, still can't fight his diabetes, obesity, or how to not sound like a complete dickhead 24/7. Really makes you think.

what is this fat-bodied person saying about the "color revolutions"? the premise behind them has been to try and expand democracy in regions without it not to "start fires" or "throw gas on fires" unless you're some kind of status quo reactionary who views other countries as names that need to remain "stable" and not appear in the news too often. He's parroting the view of RUSSIA here, is that what Bob wants to be, someone who agrees with the foreign policy of RUSSIA aka TRUMPLAND.

edit: a source that's extra fun: https://news.yahoo.com/putin-says-russia-must-guard-against-color-revolutions-135807378.html
Vladimir Putin said:
We see what tragic consequences the wave of so-called colour revolutions led to. For us, this is a lesson and a warning. We should do everything necessary so that nothing similar ever happens in Russia
He's talking about the wave that led to the Eastern Bloc becoming a bunch of democratic nations. Yes, there were the Yugoslav Wars, but that's not the "tragic consequences" he's talking about. He's talking about the loss of Russian power.

I'm not sure who the middle costume is supposed to be. I would guess a character from some famous 80s movie or "random grownup." The kind of lazy costume you wear when you throw on some of your Dad's clothing because you just want to get to the Trick or Treating already.
I'm willing to bet it's this:

Which one was it?
No I did not, and it's frankly disturbing to me that I was able to get into his head as well as I did.
Here y'all go.

Seriously listen to it as long as you can. It's fascinating...

Also I'm the one who posted Bob's fondest wish. Words of Bob:

See, I’ve got a semi-personal investment in this. I want more Batman movies. Lots more. And more comic/genre movies in tandem. I want to see the whole of the blockbuster moviescape dominated so completely by Geek Culture that it chokes the very life from almost everything else. And if Hollywood looks at this MASSIVE blockbuster and gets the idea (which also happens, conveniently, to be THE TRUTH) that listening to the “geek set” and targeting them can be a good bet… I get that. But if it becomes a “meme” that Dark Knight is breaking bank because the same savages who block-bought “Passion” into a hit are propping it up? (Which happens to be, y’know, demonstrably untrue?) Yeah, opposite effect.

Funny thing is that he doesn't want more Batman movies. He seems to hate Batman unless it's campy and stupid like the Adam West show.

Bob does know that show was a parody, right? It was never meant to be a definitive statement on what Batman is.

While it did have a huge effect on making Batman popular and known, and other things like making Riddler into a prominent Batman character, it was a one-joke show that ran out of steam by the third season.

BTW, don't ever try to binge watch the Adam West Batman show. That is most definitely a show that is not served by the binge watching model.

IIRC, that quote is from a blog Bobbo wrote back when TDK had just come out. Back then he was still all for the Nolan trilogy, and it was only later that he backtracked on his love for those movies when he associated them with the dudebros he's filled with an all-consuming rage over. Since then, I believe his desire for campy Batman content is a hamfisted attempt to distance himself from his earlier opinions.
I find it odd how the people who watch films about a genocidal overlord who decides to destroy half of humanity draw the line at seeing (what, to them, is just) a man be whipped.
Not just half of humanity, half of the entire fucking universe. It makes me wonder if some of the #ThanosDidNothingWrong crowd is actually serious (barring exceptions like @Flexo who would argue that he didn't go far enough).

Bob's opinions on Batman these days really do seem to be peak contrarianism.

He apparently doesn't like the Arkham games either. He called them edgelord stuff that's not going to age well.

I don't know what the fuck is supposed to be "edgelord" about those games, other than they take the material somewhat seriously.
