Larry Elmore dragons look like gummi worms. You need more Paul Bonner, Wayne Reynolds and John Howe in your life.

And this is why I love historicals. None of this bullshit.
Wargames are still more niche by virtue of investment required. All you need to play dnd is the starter set and some minis, and you can pirate former and skip the later. And rules are somewhat simple. Wargame minis could be free and the hobby would remain rare because of time required. And they are very, very far away from free.

E-mail and private forums are how you engage with your fanbase. There's plenty of companies making good use of Reddit and Facebook too. It's Twitter you have to avoid.

Most customer feedback isn't very useful. For every well thought out post you see there will be hundreds bitching things they died to need nerfing. E-mail is a good filter for that kind of complaining, spergs won't take the time to send one, while someone more thoughtful will. It takes more effort to find the address and send it than opening your twitter app and spewing bile at companies.

Watching the world from behind an admin account or an analytics console really distorts your reality.

You don't see the people who just roll their eyes and fuck off. You don't see people who are too busy doing important things to scroll Instagram all day. All you see is engagement. What got the clicks and what didn't. And it's very easy to fall into the habit of believing that the engagement you get is representative of all people.

People don't like the things they like because they like them. They join conflicts because they're neurotic and bored, and because liking a thing pisses off group X which other group Y can't stand.

Like I'm 100% certain that most dipshit SJW content is shared by normal people who are laughing at it. But you can't see that behind the console, you only see that it got shared.

Anyway the point I'm eventually coming to is that now that fighting is banned on social media every part of it that isn't porn will wither and die. It's so fucking boring. Places like this will live again.

Entirely predictable. You think it's your awesome tech that brings people to social media? Fuck no. People come to look at ass and to fight, and you made half of that impossible.

Both Giantlands AND WFD have gone protected, and apparently GiantLands is paying the diversity danegeld.

And the new social media guy is a fucking redditor janny.

I need to contact them about canceling my preorder.

Apparently I'm not the only one who feels this way.

And they're now blocking ANYONE who questions the virtue signaling. The new Social Media guy has already colonized the company's culture and instituted gatekeeping.

If it's Jessica Price or one of the Frog God Lawsuit goblins I'm gonna laugh my goddamned ass off.

(I can already feel it in my bones.)

The correct strategy online is not engage at all, if you engage the woke you taint the product with the established fanbase and open yourself to grifters if you denounce the woke you get buried by negative pr. theirs a quote from alien isolation I like which covers tumblr woke shit:

"You don't beat this thing, Ripley. You can't. All you can do is refuse to engage. [...] Because the moment it makes contact, it's won."

Ignore them or give generic non-commital statements and let your work speak for itself.
