No worries. This thread is 550+ pages long, and if you haven't been here from the start and obsessively reading like a fucking autist, then you couldn't have known. You are doing good work, I doubt anyone cares about you repeating things.
That is surprisingly warm, thanks.
Again, it's really sad that the old trail dried up. There isn't too much to go by. If we assume that
@Wayne Beckett is actually involved, be it the fake or real life version of himself, then 'Datapower Development' seems the only lead to go by.
Problem is that this company only exists on Wayne's supposed LinkedIn profile page. At least, spelled that way. If you relax to 'Data Power Development' in Hong Kong / SAR, there are a few more leads.
This is supposedly some random shipping information for the company:
https://panjiva.com/Data-Power-Development-Ltd/1064622
I have no experience with international shipping, but given the gaming terms on here it could be early trade activity from the company. Old information, leading nowhere except for 'Performance Designed Products LLC'. Another video gaming related company.
Then there is a raw paste of a 'Save Wizard' software license:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Ash258/Scoop-Licenses/master/SaveWizardForPS4.txt
Which again links Wayne to this via the ArsTechnica article about the same or similar save game editing software. Very odd that they would misspell their own company name in either their LinkedIn profile or a product EULA.
One thing to note is that the
Hyperkin website links to 'Save Wizard' too, in their footer. Leading to:
https://www.thesavewizard.com/
I also investigated Hyperkin a bit more, but they seem to mostly be a public facing company with a proper YouTube channel and consumer products. While they of course need expertise to integrate and assemble their console emulation devices, it's not a stretch to imagine Hyperkin relying on third party companies with deeper technical chops to provide firmware and/or FPGA designs. The chance of byuu/Near working for Hyperkin directly is probably close to zero.
Which leaves the question of what 'Datapower Development' or 'Data Power Development' is. One person online said it was a 'one man Hong Kong company created by a Brit, probably to skirt IP laws'. This is paraphrasing and hearsay, but there's really not much to be found about the company as far as my current investigative skills go.
