You Know What Grinds My Gears? - Things that personally piss you off

I love reading, but I hate having conversations about books with other people. Apparently it’s impossible to just enjoy what you enjoy in literature circles. You’re either a fart huffing pretentious faggot just trying to appear intelligent if you like classic lit, or you’re a knuckle dragging troglodyte too stupid to breathe if you like genre fiction. Far too many snobs up their own ass which sucks for someone who likes talking about books but doesn’t have the patience to deal with that bullshit.
That sucks; I'd guess probably about 30% of the conversations I have with my gf are about whatever each of us is reading currently.

At work I had a guy come through my register buying one thing. Everything goes like normal, he puts his card in and says he doesn’t need the receipt. The card reader jingle sounds to remove the card, he grabs the bag and leaves. But the receipt doesn’t print. I stare at it for a second and get a manager. Turns out his card payed like $1 and not the whole transaction.

I’m 99% sure it was intentional. If a customer knows they don’t have all of it on a card they’ll tell me “x on here and the rest in cash/etc.” It might have been one of those debit gift card things since normal bank cards would decline if there wasn’t enough right? But I could be wrong. It could have been accidental but he was swift about finishing and leaving.

Either way it was about $10 short and not some big ticket item. My managers also didn’t seem very upset at me, just explained what happened. I’m not worried about my job or anything, I’m just pissed and embarrassed it happened. That’s the first time I’ve dealt with that. I’ll remember that guy’s mug.
Is your job to care and catch shoplifters? No? Not your problem.
The truth is that your job would be at risk, if you tried to catch him. It has happened before and it will happen again.

If a manager expected me to potentially put my life at risk, well. You gotta pay for that, or fuck you.

I do what the job description says. I'm not getting my ass stabbed, shot, beat up or harassed over some politics or a job.

Either give me hazard pay or fire me. Meanwhile, I'm protecting myself.

Used to think it was a meme, but goddamn, bullying needs to come back. Every single time there's an awkward interaction on tv, or youtube or whatever, there's always some faggot going "Lol thats totally me"

Didnt really gave it any thought first, but i keep noticing that at least on youtube theres always a fucking 100+ comment thread talking about how fucking pathetic these people are, how its okay to not work on your social skills cause the world is a cunt, how the normies are just fake plastic dolls and shit...

Its like being as pathetic as you can possibly be is something to be proud now, and if you commit the crime of not being a fucking shut in you are a phony

When I spend $600 at the Gap Factory store and get home and the cashier forgot to take the security tags off two of the items.

Always makes me wonder how they manage to function in the real world. If they ever had to deal with an asshole customer or an incompetent boss/coworker they’d probably be traumatized into a coma.

If you are the type of person that suddenly swerves through three lanes of traffic to make your turn: kindly set yourself on fire. There are multiple breaks in the median to u-turn, there is no need to show off your Jeff Gordon impression.

The gun hobby and car hobbies are like that too. It's just the general syndrome of "Unwarranted Self-Importance"

Add to that, IN THE RAIN. Do many people know about hydroplaning?

Men who cry in public for any reason, or worse, who tearfully tell others about some emotionally raw moment in their life when they cried.

Crying women who think the fact that they are crying should guarantee whatever result they're after at the moment.

People who record "spontaneous" special moments with their family and later give interviews to a journalist after their shit goes viral, which more and more just means it cracked 100 likes on Twitter.

I think all money-intensive hobbies are like that. I'm all about a moderate level of gatekeeping (see current year gaming and comics for what happens when you don't gatekeep just a little), but when you take it too far, you're just being a dick.

I've been trying to sell a code for a game I don't play on eBay for a few weeks now. First buyer won the auction and promptly did not pay or respond to messages for an entire week. Relisted. Both times I listed it, I got this one guy asking to try it before he buys it. I politely told him fuck no, but he seems to be a bot set up to pester about it with pre-written messages. Had people message with offers to insta-buy that were less than the Buy Now option and only slightly more than the current bid, even though the auction had like 4 days left. Now I'm speaking to another auction winner who paid eBay, but is only just now bugging me about how to redeem it on another platform, and I have no idea if that's even fucking possible, and it's not my fault he didn't run my listing through Google Translate or bother to read the photo that included redemption instructions in his native fucking language

I am praying to God this guy is just an honest retard and not deliberately jerking me around. If he's just an idiot and it works through, fine. But I don't want to have to get eBay support involved, because I can't exactly verify whether it has been redeemed or not, so it's not like I can cancel the order and go through all this again. Yet I'm expecting eBay to just pocket the money if something goes wrong, because why the fuck wouldn't they.
