Try seeing it from someone else's perspective? I'm sure I'm not the only one here who was a starving student once upon a time. I know that in the US-of-A the starving student's food of choice is ramen, we've got something similar here but the starving student food of choice where I live is chicken and rice from the supermarket, and you can't always afford the chicken. Also I could rarely afford to go out for a drink too so for fun I'd go to the train station because there was a shop nearby that sold second-hand books and hoped that I could find something for 2-3 dollars that was interesting enough and would capture my attention for a day (it's also the reason why I have a massive book collection). Either that or I'd spend the entire day playing Shogun 2 Total War.

On his bankruptcy filing Phil claimed that as a household he and Kathy net $-34/month. So in a year he and Kathy need $120,408 in income that all will get sent right back out the door just to break even.
But if you add in his CT condo fees ($1,400 iirc) and estimated credit debt minimum payments (like $2,600 iirc) that means before Phil quit paying for the CT condo and his credit debt he and Kathy needed $168,408/year or $14,034/month in income just to break even, sound good?

@Prince Lotor is correct. After spending 20 mins looking through his docs again, I'll try to summarize it clearly since the topic came up again for anyone who hasn't seen this.

The business side:
Phil claimed he made $9,234 per month (on average) from his business, while his expenses were $5,243 per month. From his business, his average monthly net income was $3,990.

(note: in july 2019, for some odd fuckin reason, he claimed he paid $9k!!! in business expenses)

The personal side:
Phil claimed that between him and Khet, they took home $5,077 per month (Phil's $3,990/month from his business + $1,087 from Khet)

Phil claimed that his personal monthly expenses were $5,112, which is detailed in the section Schedule J of the bankruptcy petition @Dread Pirate Retard linked a few posts back.

Finally, Phil took the $5,077 he and Khet made minus the $5,112 in monthly expenses (non-business) for a net monthly income of $-35.07.

I think Prince Lotor's 120,408 figure comes from ($5,243/month biz expenses + 5,112/month living expenses)*12 months = ~ $124,000.

Here is where the obfuscation took place. Never mind his personal monthly expenses being too high, Phil detailed his personal monthly expenses, but never had to detail his monthly business expenses (at least publicly or on any form). The $5,243 of business expenses were never truly questioned. No doubt that if he had been pressed on that matter, it would have revealed that he double dipped by mixing personal expenses with business ones and that he was spending on personal micro transactions. Nancy pressed him a bit during his bankruptcy call on the business expenses because of the whole sole proprietorship/self-employed thing , but it of course wasn't enough to extract any legitimate info.

One other thing that is odd to me. On the Official Form 122A-1, Phil listed that Khet grossed $1,742 per month, whereas on the Form 106 (in section J) he listed that she grossed $1,349 per month. These were filed on the SAME DAY (January 31, 2020). The lower number was used officially for the rest of the bankruptcy.

In any case, this is all a moot point. It's clear as day that Phil lied on his bankruptcy documents, took advantage of the covid crisis (albeit unintentionally, he filed before covid hit), and got away with a fraudulent bankruptcy because he's probably the lone streamer on earth who has ever filed for bankruptcy.

He’s finally wised up to the fact that he can say anything, anything, and his pigs will believe him and at least some will dig a bit deeper to see what they can do to help out. DSP, since you're sitting at home furiously pouring over the internet for stuff to be mad about and hoping for sympathy, I will extend an olive branch of wisdom here. You don't work. The thing you do is not working. Why? You make no hourly wage, it's all based on how much donating your fans do per hour. So you can ostensibly go get a fulltime job, and raise your tips goal per stream you do after work to whatever will make up the difference because you're already bleeding your paypigs every month regardless and their money is finite, being there at 3pm isn't going to get you any more of their money than at 10pm. This will provide you with steady income that you can fall back on each month for bills, and some fun money from Youtube to blow on totally not WWE Champions or whatever the narrative du jour is for where your money goes. Barring that, yes many households in America who struggle to pay their housing/tax/utility bills will cut back on food spending as it is the one area you have a great deal of control over. $600 a month in groceries is a fuckton for 2 people, you can easily cut that in half with learning to cook. I know, you're not a chef, but it doesn't take much to Youtube up some cooking classes. Jesus fuckin christ. I'll take my MOTI and autism ratings now.
