Just saw this post and thought hmmmm how odd.

I know MOBAs have a history of garnering money through Cosmetics but the addition of 'items' being locked behind paywalls seems extremely scummy particularly using Pokemon..an entire genre focused toward children..to have this barrier. I'm gonna play it later tonight and will post more specifics but if what this post is saying is real...actively increasing damage output even by a single 1%...Fuck you Nintendo.

i thought pokemone company was in part owned by Game Freak/Nintendo in a joint way?
It is but Nintendo generally does fuck-all in terms of development unless it is a case of Nintendo having to fix Game Freak's typically mediocre shit. As was the case with the popular story about Iwata. If Nintendo had a greater hand in making Pokemon, Pokemon games would be significantly better. Who knows? Maybe Nintendo will come in and save the day with this as well. Probably not though.

Nintendo doesn't call the shots with pokemon, it only publishes the games. Game Freak and The Pokemon Company are in control of the franchise. I've heard TPC is where all the corporate bullshit that's been dragging the games down is coming from, but I don't know how credible that is.

What is Pokemon Go

... and Magikarp Jump

... and Pokemon Shuffle

... and literally everything else nu-Pokemon related.

Not defending them, but this scummy shit has been going on for quite some time.

I gave it a solid 30 minutes. Anyone who spends money or time on this should probably just jump into the Ocean without learning how to swim...then they'd actually give back to world in some way.

This game's about a decade too late to cash-in on MOBAs. Nowadays the two established games (DOTA 2, LOL) murder-rape everything attempting to get into the market and the only exception is Mobile Legends because """"mobile gamers"""" couldn't play the previously mentioned games on their own. Every other gimmick MOBA is either dead or subsisting of a few dedicated whales like Smite is. Fuck, not even Blizzard could crack into that market. If the game doesn't die in a year I'll be surprised.

okay I'm updating this...its actually a fun game to fall asleep to. The graphics are generally pleasing (bubbly/cutesy) and the gameplay just doesn't matter. It's obviously built to attract some mentally ill whales/non gamers into the mix with a scoreboard that is only meant to encourage even if you're losing.

idk..8/10 Sleep Aid

My feelings towards this one is the same as all the other Pokemon MOBAs: apathy. The franchise as I knew it is dead so there's nothing left to do but watch Game Freak/Tencent shit out half-baked cash-grabs and have fun watching autists fling shit at each other over if the games are absolute masterpieces or absolute disasters.

It looks good and there is simple fun but they need to do something about pay to win or this game is dead in a few months but loltencent.

The only thing that will prevent this game from being Dead on Arrival is brand power.

Mobas are gay and ASSFAGGOTS was a better discriptor
Mobas take too goddam long. One of the things I liked about Smite was its Arena mode, 20 minutes and BAM, match complete, and you didn't have to autistically study numbers and stats to win.

There seems to be some confusion about who exactly owns Pokemon.
GF only makes the Main Series games and have no involvement in the actual spin-offs.
TPC is a entity that effectively deals with the corporate side of things and it was founded by Iwata.
Gf, Creatures, and Nintendo all have stake in TPC but Nintendo actually owns creatures Inc and Pokemon as a brand so it's ultimately them who have the final say.
Also recently Nintendo itself has been trying to break into China and is essentially using unite as a vehicle for that

I actually did the math on this because I was bored. You need 2587 item enhancers to max one held item from lv 1 to lv 30. There’s 16 held items in the game now so that’s 41392 enhancers needed. Now this is where it gets obfuscated a bit by scumbag TPC and Tencent. You get item enhancers and aeos tickets several different ways as rewards. 10 tickets becomes 1 enhancer. If you spent every ticket you got on enhancers then you’ll get a total of 9450 tickets (945 enhancers) from the full battle pass and level ladder. You’ll also get another 2800 tickets (280 enhancers) from the current two week daily challenge thing.

For enhancer rewards you get 465 from the battle pass and 1230 from the level ladder. So if you no life this game and clean out the battle pass and level ladder then spend all of your tickets on enhancers you’ll have a total of 945+280+465+1230= 2920 enhancers. Uh oh, you’re still 38472 enhancers short for maxing out the rest of your items. Now what?

Well if you’re going to F2P you get 100 tickets (10 enhancers) daily and 14 gacha pulls weekly for free. The gacha has a 20% chance of giving you 10 enhancers in a pull so that averages out 28 enhancers/ week from the gacha. Add that to the 100 daily tickets (70 enhancers/week from that) and you’re looking at 98 enhancers/week on average. 38472/98= 392.57 weeks or 7.52 years.

Or if you’re a brain damaged whale you can buy 60 enhancers/$1. That’ll be $641.20. Cash or credit?

and this is only for the first 16 held items. Arceus help you when they add more.

Based on what I've seen the game seems to be a surprising hit.
Don't forget that Nintendo games on mobile devices like Fire Emblem Heroes and Pokemon go have grossed billions of dollars.
People will give Nintendo money and in return will get a good old-fashioned Japanese bukkke.
Not to mention that Millions upon millions of people are going to buy the OLED the spot it virtually fixing nothing about the switch we already have

This game is fucking disgusting ass. I've been playing it since launch and can't fucking take their retarded ranking system. You can be a master having to play with veterans. I have a new account and am on Expert atm but am stuck playing with beginners who still think Ro is more important than getting Dred. Plus you get punished for playing the game well - if you die after not dying forever then you can be out of the game for 45s, that shits insane when the last 2 minutes of the game are crucial because of the FUCKING ZAP. This thread is dead so hopefully that means more people have stayed away from this cancer of a game. Still gonna play tho.
