So I know a gay man who trooned out. Now, unlike a lot of people I believe that gay men can be AGPs, or at least closer to AGPs than HSTS, and looking at this guy you'd probably assume that he's an AGP, especially since he identifies as a lesbian now.

But I suspect something else. I think that it's more of a male version of ROGD. White men get drawn into the most toxic parts of the social justice community and adopt a more oppressed identity (gay white men nowadays are just as oppressive as straight white men) as transwo men. These TiMs may still want to date men, but they don't want to date an oppressor and even if they did there really aren't that many male-identified males in their circle (nevermind a male-identified male who is willing to date a man) so they date each other. And of course, transwomen are women! So that makes them LESSBIAAAANSSS!

Basically, they're t4t.

I know the Wi Spa furore has mostly passed but I had a thought about it after a discussion in the other thread:

The main reason women divide into single-sex groups socially is not so much to avoid men as it is to avoid predators. That is really the key to most women-only spaces and female socializing. It is sad that one sex has to arrange so much of their lives around avoiding creepy males, but that is the way it is. I am especially talking about informal female friendship and hobby groups and 'girl's nights' and things like that. The informal 'rules' about excluding males from these groups have often been quite easily bent in the past, but the key always was that the men had to have something about them that made them obviously non-predatory. That is why you'd occasionally see exemptions made for gay men (the most obvious example) but sometimes also even straight men who are long-term partners of one of the women and have proved themselves over time to not be creeps. No one cares if Sarah's partner Ron tags along on girls' nights because he is a good DD and just quietly sits and reads a book. No one cares if your gay friend George is there in the room when you're discussing bikini waxes or whatever.

That is probably also why many HSTS were able to quite freely move in a lot of female spaces, even legally female-only ones, before the TRA movement took off. Even if they were clocked as technically male, they just didn't ring predator bells.

Note: I am definitely not saying that women do not have a right to spaces that exclude anyone biologically male, they absolutely do. I am just trying to come up with an explanation for why today's transwymyn are so absolutely destructive to women's spaces in a way that other men are not. Because they are come off as predators. They are predators, in that they are using women's spaces as ways to get their exhibitionist/voyeurist kicks, or to violate boundaries for their own validation, even if they are not physically attacking women (which of course some of them also do). It's always one level of using women for their own needs. And as soon as that 'predators are welcome here' vibe is created, most women simply leave.

I think people are assuming all fundamentalists are the same across religions. Trans may be preferable to gay on a systemic level in Pakistan, but hardcore conservative Christians in the US would probably have a much harder time with their kid being trans as gay. They are both bad, but being trans is an immediate, visceral level of delusion and self-harm that also requires parents to engage in the delusion. It's just way harder than politely ignoring who your kid is dating.

At this point, it should be obvious to anyone paying attention that the people who are mostly responsible for the phenomenon of female single-sex groupings (sexual predators) self select into the group of men best able to avoid the restrictions that the pattern imposes (trannies). After all, if you don't include Little Miss 6' 4'' on your girls night, you're obviously being transphobic and want everyone who has ever come within a 5 foot radius of a tranny to go to the death camps. If the world was a little less Current Year than it is now, the fact that these scum have embraced the transgender movement so wholeheartedly would be food for thought.

I wouldn't be that sure. Now I do think there is some unique culture in Pakistan that pushed trans as a cure for gays but I think fundamentalist western christians also have reasons why trans is easier to accept than gay.

Most people including fundamentalist want to have a relationship with their child, but in fundamentalist circles you kinda have push people away if they don't conform with their values, that's a large reason why they keep their members. The fear of excommunication gives a reasons to stay and not question things because you don't want to loose all your current friends and there is enough truth in there because it allows you to push actually harmful people out too. Then your kid turns out gay and you're expected to punish them for it by throwing them out. You don't really want to do that but gays are so common that everyone knows that gay is a sin and what to do about it. Then your child comes with a thing that says they aren't sinful but merely sick and there is a cure called transitioning. Some parents won't buy it, just another sin and changing genders is impossible, but others will eagerly take the excuse to have their child in fully their lives again.
