I oppose communists out of principle, whatever they push no matter what it is, is going to have an unforeseen negative effect, that and communist are never truly honest about what their words mean.

Equality = equity is the an example of coded language that they like to engage in to confuse the masses. In case of corona, clean society = sterilized environment. I wouldn't be shocked that they'll end up making one getting sick illegal, wait they kind of have, haven't they.

I will see if I can find the article again but Portugal is seeing an increase of 2 years olds going to hospital with illnesses they should have had protection from last year, but due to the over sanitization they never got the natural protection they would have gotten.

It's been a good thing that this virus and the mutations haven't evolved to target children too much, but with all this injection crap, what if it does? We've already got a generation-ish that has mutilated itself to the point, that most of them will probably kill themselves in 10 years, if we get a mutation that 'decides' (yes I know that's not how it works) to target the youngest generations, depopulation may not be the aim here but it's certainly what might happen.

Devil's advocating though--that is asking a lot. Even if I had time to go to my library and find peer reviewed journals and read articles, I wouldn't even know where to start and it would take me a long time to learn what I needed to interpret what I was reading correctly.

I'm a big believer in not trusting gatekeepers and finding out facts yourself, but let's face it: we can't all be Drain Todgers.

The access is online, all you need in a library card, and half a brain. Shit half the time you don't even need that, you can access a lot of journal databases online, majority of them are contained within larger databases like pubmed (in the case of medical stuff). In the case with covid specifically and that a lot of articles haven't been peer reviewed yet, you can find them on medrxiv, and they are full text. If you find an article that you think you want to know more on, you can search for the article name and you may find websites that are discussing it already.

There are also plenty of 'for the dummies' types of websites that have information in plain English, even yt videos that break down the basics of whatever you are looking for, that you don't have any idea about.

Seriously dude, it's not hard, all it takes is instead of 'losing yourself' in playing whatever mindless bullshit of a game is the latest fad/watching anime with little educational value (I'm not saying having 'brain off' time has absolutely no value, it does), use some of that time to educate yourself, pass that information onto others, you never know when it might come in handy.

I believe larger corporations and media outlets will find new ways to keep normies too frightened and scared to question anything over the next few years. Any skeptic who doesn't fall in line with the current narrative will be ostracised and silenced. We're already slowly seeing covid passports and schemes for stalking tracking people put in place in the UK. Governments are turning into nanny states where the citizens are obedient and docile yet people seem unaware or in complete denial about this.

I agree in general, but I'll disagree with the broken clock when comes to communists, the face of the clock is honest. My job requires me to deal with things that are health hazards, we have a protocol and special bins when dealing with these health hazards, the one thing that amazed me was that the masks don't when they should be consider bio-hazards with how much the government hypes up covid particles in it propaganda ads.

I would advise against retrofitting US politics onto other countries, especially non-anglophone ones, by which I basically mean anywhere that's not Canada or the UK.

Aww and there me thinking calling American politics a game, shows I wasn't doing that with the French and that American politics is a blood sport, it's entertainment.

It's pretty woke where I am due to demographics so I don't see it ending any time soon. I still see people wearing masks while driving alone in cars.

Eric Clapton doesn't want to play concerts in venues that demand vaccination proof. Meanwhile the Foo Fighters, who had to cancel some shows because a vaccinated crew member tested positive, are the opposite. I foresee a lot more cancellations due to the clusterfuck that organizing live events has become since the pandemic. Dave Grohl and Eric Clapton don't need the money. But crews and smaller acts do. The people that work in the concession stands and sweep the floors do. Music sites are already pissed at the unvaccinated for ruining everything and not that much has been even "ruined" yet.

All I see is constant REEEEing from people who demand others get vaccinated because "muh sports muh music muh restaurant trips muh vacation". They claim they care about the variant risks and hospitals filling up. But really, all they care about is themselves and their lives being inconvenienced. They seldom talk about the lost jobs and shuttered businesses now. It's all about them. Can't dine in? Your life has been ruined!

At this point why not let the chips fall where they may and leave everybody alone. Enough is enough. You are not going to vaccinate everyone. If you try to do it by force there will be civil unrest. The high risk people are the ones who should have been told to shelter in place. Everyone else should have been allowed to live life normally at their own risk. They only loosen the restrictions as much as they feel they have to to prevent spillover into the streets. To borrow a line from Dave Cullen (Computing Forever), they got their outside time, but now it's time to go back inside. Maybe if people are on their good behavior, they might be allowed to take off their masks again someday, as long as they're outside and nowhere near another person, oh, and you have to be vaccinated to do this.

I wish, but governments grow. It gets staffed with people who want power and want to flex their power over the proles. Look at Newsom. He went out to his favorite place to eat with a large group of friends without masks and very crowded, while the people and the "people" of California are forced to close their businesses and wear a muzzle everywhere they go.

The muh vaccine people on social media are a weird bunch for sure. In real life I know only a couple of Branch Covidians, ones a doctor, they're assholes but none wish death on me even though they know I'm against the jabs. The absolutely moronic thing of all, is the lockdown part. We know that being outside helps prevent spread, due to UV breaking it down, the disperse in the air, and just the sheer 'distance' thing. It's totally being proven in Sydney at present, where people are being told, don't spend time with family, because the highest transmission rates are happening between family members, you know the ones who are locked down together, or need to care for each other.

This is a fantastic thing, it will help stop the anxiety with people in the routine of checking the numbers every single day. If they know it's weekly, they'll get on with other things to keep them busy until it's time to check.

I think people might be figuring out the whole 'keep them in fear = keep them in line' thing, that the powers that be, have got in place.
