I don't know what the fuck Salvatore is smoking, but he needs to stop.

The issue with drow skin color has more to do with art. Vantablack skin is fucking boring to draw and ink, and it's boring to look at, and it's hard as fuck to make it look right. So I never objected to skin tone variance in the drow -- hell, most other humanoid races have that, why not drow?

But Salvatore's lining up to take a giant shit on his past novels, and that's a huge mistake in my opinion.

And once again: WotC is taking credit for shit that's already been done. Keith Baker's Eberron had nonevil drow (granted, they were jungle dwelling, scorpion-worshipping drow). But because we are in Year Zero, everything in the past is problematic.

Orcs aren't human. They aren't modified humans, they aren't any closer related to humans that humans are to elephants.

The same with elves.

And dwarves.

These are LITERALLY DIFFERENT SPECIES of hominids.

This isn't like claiming a black guy should get a -2 on Int because he's black.

This is saying: "Orcs, with an enlargened amygdala as well as possessing other aggressive cerebral constructs based on their DNA, are naturally more aggressive with less cognitive abilities than other races."

"Elves, with lighter bones with leaner muscles, have a tendency to be lighter but have less endurance and energy reserves, giving them a -2 to Con."

I mean, these aren't fucking pointy eared humans, green humans, short humans, these are literally NON HUMAN RACES.

With the Chaos Gods competing with the corpse-emperor and with each other, you'd think they'd be in the game to innovate tech like crazy. The fact that they don't is a massive disappointment to me, although the realistic part of my brain tells me that they don't do such things because they're mostly ignored by the writers in place of their Imperial cousins because the latter sell more models.

I think the issue is you're seeing chaos as lifting of restraints when the exact opposite is true, if anything it makes you more retarded. Their are further deeper problems for example the eye of terror is a barren shithole with no infrascructure for knowledgue to develop and the traitor legions/dark mechanicus are in a perpetual civil war. It's like trying to do peer reviewed research in mad max crossed with silent hill except.
Their isnt actually much practical incentive to build an man of iron incidently if you're just going to put a deamon in it since you're effectively wasting it's primary trait and the forces of chaos already have loads of robots with that going on anyway. Plus men of iron would definatly turn on them.

They also have psycher chaos 'droids' already in the thousand sons legion. a lot of the stuff you want they already have.

Oh, it's way worse than that.

You don't have to give any biological explanations. In a lot of fantasy settings races are literally created by the gods. Why are Orcs savage and brutish? Because fucking Grummsh said so.

Even in settings where races "evolved" or were modified from a common stock, there's usually a lot of magic involved. A wizard/glowing space rock/deity did it. Ironically, the people trying to change orcs and drow are all about using "a wizard did it" to cover for holes in their writing, yet they won't accept it when it comes to interesting races.

They won't stop until all "evil" races are sanitized and no one is playing plain humans anymore.

If I remember right, the in world reason the Drow got dark skin was they were cursed by a god or something like that. It wasn't biological or anything like that.

Meanwhile Ty Beard (old school Tabletop gamer + lawyer in Texas) raised the red flag when people brought the new TSR up on Nick's show a few nights ago. He says Gygax Jr. means well but he suspects the guy partnering with Gygax Jr. is trying to use the cancel mob coming for them as attention and marketing or somesuch.

Nick said it was almost definite that WoTC was helping the mob / involved in some way, but Ty again reiterated that he has contacts in the industry that suggests that Gygax Jr.'s business partner isn't to be trusted and might be full of shit. That the situation was significantly more complicated than "grr, sjws bad."

They're going to have to start slapping penalties onto playing a white male fighter then because that's a popular choice for many, many reasons. Funny thing is if they did actually start giving stat penalties to the huwhite males to push off the min-maxers and some may dig their heels in anyway.

Somewhere out there on Discord there are a bunch of fuckwit troons that think they're achieving justice one DDoS at a time.
Good news is that once the troon craze ends we will probably see a drop in these kinds of attacks by about 2/5ths.
