Alot of historytube aspires to be like Breadtube so I think stuff like this will happen more often from now on. Civilis seems to want to represent themselves as more of a progressive with their redirection. rather than as some revolutionary Marxist.

The most Breadtube like of historytube that I can think of is either The Kavernacle or Step Back though they act more like the adl or splc then as revolutionary marxist (even if step back is a self describe marxist). Step Back is The Cynical Historian's more left leaning overwight friend. The Kavernacle has an extreme derange obsession of rightwing people. Neither of the two are capable of forming a thought outside of there ideology and always gaslights and strawman's there opponents to there audience.

Historytube channels trying to LARP as Breadtube of Breadtube adjacent is very hit or miss. Channels like K&G don't diplay any political bias (Though K&G is subscribed to ContraPoints). You do have people like AtunShei who uses his experience as a Gettysburg tour guide from New England to LARP as an expert on the Civil War or PH, who is more Redditor than Breadtube LARP, but both of these are more Breadtube adjacent if anything. CynicalHistorian is probably the most glaringly obvious Historytuber who flirts with Breadtube.

At least its not a secret 100% lost to time.

I watched that video last night. He actually mentions Marx stating how every war is a class war or some such shit (Which is very wrong and anyone who believes that deserves to be called a retard), but otherwise the video is interesting if misleading. I assumed it was over the political boundaries and status of European powers post-Napoleon but it was instead more about the decline of great power wars.

Thoughts on the recent Whatifalthist video? I find it funny that I could agree with almost everything he says in a video but still feel that he missed the mark. I think his comparison of the average american in 1989 to now with Homer Simpson is kinda interesting though.

But, I wanna talk about Dovahhatty's view on Islam, this video doesn't talk about it whatsoever until the end. He always was fearful of expressing his "meme" opinion on Islam. He kind of expresses that the Muslims are going to hate the next video, due to the Caliphate. I am guessing he is going display them as Satanists (Side note: he did it with the Germans, Persians and etc.) or whatever. Even though that Islam hates Satan as well with his tricks. I think the satanic joke is a little over used, but that just might me as well.

I also wanna talk about my opinion on his opinion (and maybe some predictions, etc.). I am guessing that his views on Islam (Coming from a who panders to Jews within his discord server and fear from his yt getting taken or whatever.) are badly vague. I don't hate Islam because most of it seems like Christianity. And views on the Caliphate might be bad (because he likes the romans, Christianity). It could be that he's doing it for the meme or personal hatred, but it's mostly like a meme thing.

My opinion on the Caliphate is they attacked Byzantium and Persia at a Calculated time and then spread Islam quickly through those newly gained land like Syria, Egypt and other parts. I think Dovahhatty is going to make them "evil" and """"""satanic"""""" by displaying Saint Peter's cross on the head, forearms and etc. I know he is biased but it seems will do the same imagery onto the next people attacking Byzantium. Or making them into silly wojaks that are braindead like the Slavs.

Dovah's entire shtick is that whoever the current focus of the video hates determines how they're portrayed, hence Christianity going from being portrayed as a weird cult religion that causes problems to the one true good religion after the Constantine video. I’ve watched a fair amount of each person mentioned here. And honestly I could go on All day about each one but the one I’ll definitely pick is potential history. Potential history is probably the worst of all these guys and has birthed a God awful cesspool community of history redditors that have infected almost every bit of the internet I go on Involving World War II or Armored Vehicles. They will witch hunt anyone who dares has the slightest bit of positive talk about the Germans in World War II. The community he’s birthed is worse than the Wehraboos who’d constantly infest forums with how great and advanced the Wehrmacht were. But instead they’ll constantly joke about the Panther’s Transmission, Low Fuel supplies, etc.

His videos also aren’t very informative and are just filled God awful Reddit tier memes and cliche jokes about the battles or whoever was involved in the topic. Such as his recent video on the Confederate Submarine which literally has the same General Sherman, slavery, etc jokes you would see said on R/History or whatever. He even managed to make the topic of the Submarine so boring, like he does with everything he talks about.

His series about Germany could not win World War II is Now like the Bible of Reddit History buffs, all I see is these retards link his videos when trying to debate or trying to prove a point. Honestly I’d rather listen to TIK who Actually researched his shit And doesn’t distract the video with pointless memes and jokes. Although his audience wouldn’t watch that shit since they’re too retarded to understand what he says and would probably soyrage about takes on National Socialism, Fascism, or Communism.

Lastly I’ve seen the retards of his community go after people such as Mark Felton who is a actual qualified historian. They accuse him of plagiarism to being a Nazi for literally no reason. I don’t even understand how or why they’d hate him, perhaps not spouting over and over about their Unfunny jokes about Wehraboos, the German army, etc. I don’t even see the reason for accusing him of being Nazi since All his videos clearly denounce what they did. Now yes Felton has his issues as in not citing sources and so on but I’d rather watch his shit than Potential History.

Timaeus has a series on ancient Rome from 753BC to 476AD. Holds a pretty minimalistic view on pretty much everything prior to the Samnite Wars, is quite dry, and his microphone is sub-Mr Metokur for a decent amount of episodes, but I find it excellent background noise. Little flash, but a lot of substance.. Besides that he has some other series, but I really don't care about Standard Oil or Tesla.

The Histocrat is a channel I rarely see mentioned anywhere, but his content is top notch with lots of visuals. I love his series on the British Isles, which starts at 1 Million BC (has been stalled at 1 AD for over a year )

TIK is fantastic, though can be at times abit of a lolbert, you can tell that he's extremely passionate about WW2 history and his breakdown of the Barbarossa Campaign is great. His video about the difference between National Socialism and Fascism is also rather decent.
