Its all such circular logic:
>get the vax to protect yourself
"but I already had it/low-risk group"
>its not about you, its about protecting others!
"but they don't provide sterilizing immunity"
>well they were never supposed to, they just lessen the severity
"so then why do I need it?"
>get the vax to protect yourself
I literally had almost this exact thing play out in my online friend group tonight. Someone posted an article blaming the unvaccinated for everything wrong with the world (or should I say, posted a Reddit link), and then another went on a spiel about how those who aren't getting jabbed are the worst people in existence, more or less.
Shit you not, he made all of the following statements, paraphrased:
>we're nowhere close to herd immunity because of the unvaccinated
>herd immunity is really only important for the olds and kids, fuck everyone else I guess
>you can still pass on the coof even if you've been shot
>all vaccines work like that so it's no big deal that the coof ones still let you catch and transmit the disease
>the unvaccinated all believe in 5G microchips, what fucking morons
It's like, he's just one or two steps away from realizing "wait a minute, how are these shots supposed to help us hit herd immunity when they don't confer immunity?" But he refuses to take that last logical leap because he's too enamored by the concept of his "magic science juice" (direct quote).
Suffice it to say, I did not engage, just ignored and moved on. I can't put up with trying to convince Branch Covidians anymore.
