Absolutely. But even if you're surrounded by lifelong friends it's probably difficult to outright say 'I'm having surgery' because you don't want to be responsible for lowering the mood about your own situation, so in that regard, Haruka saying what she said reads to me as 'we all know and we all want to let you know we are thinking of you'.

It was clumsy and forceful, but it wasn't malicious, and she didn't say anything that Pomu didn't already publicly state to her own chat. I've heard she was embarrassed after the stream whilst talking to Froot and apologising for her own mistakes, and Pomu appreciated her intent, so bringing her up here and putting her on blast just felt kinda inappropate.

While I certainly have my qualms with how hololive is managed and think they're too strict about collabs, let's not act like Vshoujo and Niji dont have their own hangups. You think they'll allow Hoshikawa to collab with Haachama ever again? and Zentreya would screech til the end of time if anyone in Vshoujo dared to collab with someone "problematic" which is going to become a bigger issue with time

Given the horrifically safe and boring game choice, the Kiara-Nyanners collab I remember being pretty average and overall forgettable, but I don't remember it being too scuffed or cringy by Kiara standards. I actually liked the Calli-Mouse Q&A though since I thought they had good rapport and Calli generally being at her best when shooting the shit. I'm not familiar with the usual quality of VShoujo collabs, but the ones with HoloEN were pretty good considering they didn't have prior chemistry.


I always though it was a seniority thing with frequency of outside collabs being more common in the early generations compared to the later ones. I think FBK and Matsuri are typically the ones that do the most outside collabs while, off the top of my head, I don't remember if Gen5 has ever done any. There's also Towa but she tends to keep those to competitive Apex streams.

Could it also be that Gen 5 had no streaming experience before and thus had no connections with other VTubers who's had streaming experience before? Like we know for a fact that a lot of Holo and Nijis knew each other back in NND. I'm not too sure about the history of Gen 5 roommates but I don't think they had NND experience save for Polka.

Why wouldn't Niji allow Haachama and Hoshikawa to collab? They're pretty much on the same level of yab anyway. And VShoujo's an agency in a very loose term. In their case, talents have way more flexibility to collab with anybody they want, even at the possible objection of their own squad.

Nene was a literal-who 1K sub V-Tuber on YouTube. She had experience and she did collaborate with other small-time tubers. Lamy comes from an ASMR scene. Botan does also have streaming experience but to what degree I can't gauge.

Vei and Mel are probably one reason Hololive might be hesitant to collab with Vshojo. Mel is pretty safe, she seems to have no issues being wholesome. Vei, on the other hand, smeared the company and when given a chance to apologize she doubled down.

It's definitely management picking since I think they're wary of the English community and the inability to keep kayfabe, but not even the talent is fully capable of that sometimes. Keeki called herself Kiara during her birthday cake eating and Calli has called herself Karen quite a few times.

They also might be afraid of brand damage, despite that being a dumb fear to begin with. Thing is, it does open up a lot of possibilities for things to go wrong, especially if one of the bigger fans gets some time with one; a collab with Naggz, Koefficient or Nux would be a recipe for fucking disaster, and Calli commented on something like that months ago; as much as she wants to work with Charlie, management would block it and even if they allowed it, it wouldn't really be on brand for either of them regardless of what content was produced.

Koe collabed kind of with Coco and that went fine I don't see the issue

There isn't any. GunRun is an ex-twitch employee and MowTenDo makes old spice remixes. They're there to arrange merch and sponsors and don't have anywhere near 'managerial' levels of control like hololive or nijisanji. At most they've demonstrated they can make suggestions like "Don't retweet so much porn of yourselves, it makes it harder to find sponsors".

The talent is running the show there.
