General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Religious schools tend to have some of the craziest motherfukers you can find in whatever state you are in.
Mori was likely an easy target because of her Wiggerisms which usually don't fly in those settings.
A quote on quote example of a corrupted youth to that crowd since rap was a pretty taboo subject in the late 90s and early 2000s

Ultimately, tribalshit favoring Hololive is unavoidable. Regardless of what Vshoujo or Nijisanji fans want to believe, Hololive is the center of vtubing in the west. And in an industry that encourages gachikoi culture, people defending their oshi and the company they belong to is not really that surprising. Also, to be fair, @Scuttle does have a tendency to bring down cover and Hololive too much while propping up Anycolor and Nijisanji, sometimes all in the same post. I still remember when I was reading the backlogs of this thread, him numberfagging Lulu's graduation and hoping that it got a higher viewership than Coco's. All because he got mad about a bunch of fans speculating just how big Coco's graduation would be (none of which I ever found mentioning Nijisanji in their post). That kinda did bring down my opinion of him somewhat since anyone that insecure to numberfag a graduation is not right in the head. He honestly reminds me of Clipper fans and you never wanna be compared to clipper fans.

Sorry to burst your bubble but that wasn't me who numberfagged Lulu's graduation and wanted it to have more than Coco. I was barely here at that time because I didn't want to deal with all the sadposting. If you're gonna dislike me for something at least dislike me for something I actually did. It's not hard to scroll back.
His "point" was a sarcastic jab at how the VShojoxHolo collab was still bad despite management holding a tight rein on their talents contrasted to the Big Collab being a shitshow despite Niji's looser management style

Also, since when was this place a hugbox for Holo? We've been airing discontent for Cover's incompetence since the Taiwan arc

My 'point' was that I believed the narrative that would come out of it was that keeping Niji and VShojo on a loose leash equated to blundered, low quality collabs, and that Hololive would be vindicated in their decision to take forever greenlighting ideas to ensure quality. I then stated that the HoloVsho collabs weren't that great either.

If you want to call it snappy or sarcastic that's absolutely fine but fuck me waking up from a good ass sleep to find people in this thread still seething over one offhand comment and things I didn't even do is quite something.

Yeah, it's no secret that he likes Niji, that itself is fine since if I want pure, unadulterated holosperging, there's Leddit. The problem that his posts are akin to praising the dick he's sucking while simultaneously sneer at Hololive for not having the same quality dick in his mouth. This faggy behavior is consistent and becoming more noticeable that people starting to call this out. Justified criticism flies under the radar if he keeps acting like a faggot.

This is a fair criticism and I'll keep an eye on it. To be crystal clear my favourite V-Tuber is a member of Hololive, and I was one of Ichikara's biggest critics during the handling of the Meiro/Roa Incident last year.

I will reiterate, though, that the person who said they wanted Lulu's graduation to be more popular than Coco was not me and I don't appreciate false things being attributed to me whilst I'm asleep and unable to immediately defend myself. On a website largely dedicate to archiving and making sure you know who said what, going back to the thread on June 30 to verify isn't difficult, so I'll do the work.

Aight, that's my bad dude. Unfortunately, you're probably the most active in terms of Niji posting and there's not many of you so when trying to remember something off the cuff, I tend to attribute shit to the wrong guy (remember when I thought you were the guy translating mayazumi's lore vids?) Regardless, I do agree with the other guy that you do tend to let your bias towards Niji show while being a bit too critical with Holo. It's fine being critical about a lot of stuff and funposting about stupid shit is great too but you gotta keep it in your pants sometimes.

I'll take it out of my pants as many times as I want. 👁️

In all seriousness, just know that when Niji blunder I'll gun for them too. I thought allowing Roa's managers to act they way they did, and Ichikara's PR statement throwing both of the talents under the bus to protect their seniors was absolutely abhorrent. The thing is there's really not much to rag on them for that's still topical right now, so compared to Holo where the limelight is ALWAYS on their every move and decision, I can see how my jabs have started to look 'biased' over time. None of this has ever had the intention of making Niji look better. I had tribalist bullshit. Life's too short to be a /vt/ sperg.

Hmmm, @Scuttle does boomer embedding images like a parent...

Hana Macchia's dad wouldn't be caught dead making the same boomer mistakes I do.

Yeah, I remember someone making a great analogy here (or maybe somewhere else?) about how Cover is insanely open with how they operate when compared to western companies almost to their detriment. It's basically like seeing a house built in real time compared to seeing an already made house. Even if both houses had the same number of blunders when making them, most people will tend to complain about the house being built real time because they were there while the house was being built.

To be frank though, no one is talking about Niji's mistakes simply because there's not many EOP who cares about Niji as a whole in the first place, more on the talent to talent basis. Niji have no bridges to the whole Nijisanji brand for the EOP, and its social dynamic where each talent only cares for themselves also helped masked any infighting in the brand itself.

Ironically though, this mentality to loyalty to talents is also exhibited by Holofans, although Holo's synergy and interaction with each other managed to propel the brand and other talents as a whole, unlike Niji that only focuses on the big names.

Furthermore, I am of the opinion that Matsuri is a menhera bitch

No, I think she's straight, just focused on the work too much. I'd speculate that she had a bad relationship in highschool, lost virginity and regretted it, so decided it's not worth it and it's better to dive into hobbies.
I don't think there is any doubt about her not being straight. She has talked about her taste in men more than most Holos have.
Nah she's gone on record several times she's basically so fucked up cause of being beatin up and sexual harrassed since middle school by guys she's, basically unsure what sexual attraction actual is and basically rarely feels it strongly and panic's anytime thinking about a guy touching her even the 1 guy she really trusts

https://blubrry.com/yonaka_tea_time/61485374/lets-talk-about-trauma-the-fun-episode/ like 1 hour 14 mins in basically talks about it

been a while since i listened to it but think right time frame skips the 3 annoying other annoying twats
Oh yeah that podcast. I knew about her bullying background but listening her explaining it more in detail really makes it worse than i though.

Off topic but why the hell are religious schools so often fucked up? And I mean not just the christian ones, even the hindu, buddhist, and the islamic ones as well

And that's basically the lynchpin of the problem, right? Nobody is aware of what Niji are doing because they don't care enough compared to Holo.

Even when Lulu outright stated that she graduated due to harassment from antis/gachikoi there was no real public inquest even from r/Niji as to just how much the management tried to help her out than there was for, say, Aloe and Coco. Cover are under such an intense microscope that they really cannot do ANYTHING without EOPs finding out and creating a buzz.

Niji could be doing some terrible shit right now and we'd be none the wiser because the Western fanbase isn't big enough to have translators and megafans on hand to tell us what one of them said in a stream etc.

The only two things we've had in recent memory was one person bringing a /vt/ rrat about Miki/Rosemi being some unloyal gold-digger, and the other about Petra's CCP apology - both of which required looking into and were both looked into after a couple of days.

I'd argue that Niji's more selfish streaming culture makes it more obvious that cliques exist. Streamers have had to have their lore rewritten because they fell out with the others their lore pertains to. There are lots and lots of SMOK-esque groups except in Niji they very rarely even try to collab outside of them. These are things that, should the topic arise, I'd criticise them for.

Alas, no one talks about them, so there's no opportunity to ever really be my snarky self in their direction.

I actually think this might be Hololive's greatest strength but also it's biggest design flaw keeping in mind Cover's not so great management. The girls are the pillars of the company and when one of them goes it's like a shockwave that resonates with the entire fanbase. Even people (like me) who didn't really care for Coco's content felt it when she announced her graduation. Now granted Coco was a very big deal but Im positive that even if someone like Choco or Mel or even Aki graduated, everyone would still feel it because their oshi would indirectly be affected by it as well. Honestly, if any 2 of Fubuki, Pekora, Marine, or Korone were to graduate in quick succession, that probably would be enough to turn the brand into the next Upd8.

Because of the rules. Teenagers are mostly edgy rulebreakers that thinks it badass and cool to be a delinquent or a contrarian. Or some of them has some deep seated issues brought about by controlling and religious parents so when they are outside they just power trip against who they think is insecure and below them so they can feel that they are strong and in control when in fact they are just projecting.

Au contraire, although it might seems like a weakness, it's actually kind of a strength itself. With the talents being quite close to each other, if the management fucked up bad, then everyone would and could leave. It's basically like a pseudo-union. At the very least, the talents has some power in the company as well, which, by the way, is quite impressive considering the nature of Japanese Tarento Jimusho

You know what, you might be onto something. Maybe it's just me but i feel like ever since Coco graduated, Cover has somewhat loosened it's restrictions on the girls. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they're letting Pekora do that fan participation idea that they rejected a few months back that caused her to go on a mini hiatus.

Friend heard from a friend ("Source: Trust me, bro!") that the NijiEN Wave2 penguin VTuber Petra Gurin is a CCCP supporter but I haven't found any sources on that.
Have there been any info on her or was that just unfounded wank?
I'm barely following NijiEN aside from memes, but they seem to be mostly Asian-based at least and Niji still hasn't abandoned the CN connection.

PS: Sasuga 1mil angle!

It was talked about a few days ago. She did make a CCP apology saying she supports One-China Policy, but she also retweeted a tweet trying to spread awareness on what was going on in Hong Kong and supporting them.

It's possible that, because she was a BiliBili Utaite, she was caught out retweeting that and needed to backpedal in order to save her job (we've seen individuals and companies do this constantly). There's no real indication she actually supports the CCP.

Maybe she'll pander to them less now that she has an EN/JP audience, only time will tell. I don't really begrudge people making hollow apologies to keep their job. In an ideal world, everyone would stand up for what they believe, but that's just not how it is, not even for execs of multi-million/billion dollar conglomerates.
