There were several actual celebrities at the event, and it was also an excuse to day drink in Soho Square which is 100% why things like this get such attendance. "Pride Is A Protest, Pride Not Profit" bales in comparison to "hey we can go to this queer event and have a fun day out and pat ourselves on the back for attending". My mates who witnessed that speech were necking tinnies while they did so, partially because at that point nightclubs were still banned so it was like partying.
The crowd had nothing to do with Ollie grabbing the mic.

It's probably not even intentional shade at Hontra, Nyk is just such a fuck-up that every 'cautionary tale' that Olly tells inadvertently describes him exactly.
It's the fact that Olly actually thinks he is seen as a 'woman' by others that gets me. He will never know what it's like to feel the 'expectations of being a woman' because he is a man. No one will ever see him as a woman or treat him like they would a woman.

Apologies for the @Nykysnottrans-esque post that is about to follow but I've been thinking over the extranny456 post. I think there is some evidence that supports his theory that what caused Nyk and Olly to fall out was Nyk 'not getting' Olly's decision to troon out. I also think it's possible that Nyk and Olly were still friends up until Olly's coming out video. The only reason people think they fell out earlier is because they weren't following one another on Twitter by August 2020, which I'll address below. If this theory is true, then I don't think things went down quite the way that extranny456 claimed they did. Imo, the extranny456 theory makes more sense if we assume that Olly reached out to Nyk after he trooned out in an attempt to rekindle their romantic relationship, and Nyk turned him down because he viewed Olly as a man and not a woman.
I know most will probably disagree with this theory but it makes more sense to me now that I've thought about it more. Maybe Olly's alt accounts have just been getting to me. Either way, Olly extranny456 should come back and address this and also ask me for fashion advice.

2) We also know Olly is terrified of being cancelled (especially if the snl825 account is truly his alt) so unfollowing anyone that has been previously deemed 'problematic' would be a good move on his part. During Olly's last livestream he said that there are close friends of his that he doesn't even follow on Twitter, because he's afraid of being cancelled by association. Nyk has had the Twitter mob come after him a few times.
3) Nyk was still following @OllyThorn on Twitter in August 2020, he might've been folllowing Olly up until he deleted that account (when he trooned out). So Nyk was actually still following Olly even after he started cross-dressing, shaving his face, growing out his hair, and trying to trim down to get a more 'feminine' figure. This goes against my other theory that Nyk distanced himself from Olly when Olly began trooning out in May/June of 2020.
What supports the extranny theory is mainly this section of the Contrapoints March AMA Stream, which was streamed on April 30th, 2021. Nyk was asked how someone could stop 'misgendering a romantic partner in their head', and in Nyk's answer he implies that he has had this issue with a cis man who he viewed as very gender-conforming. We know that Nyk viewed Olly as "an absolute Chad", so this very likely could be about Olly.
Nyk's answer (short version): "I'll be honest, there's people out there whose gender just doesn't make sense to me, like their explanation of their gender just doesn't make sense to me at a superficial level. I can call anyone whatever pronouns they want, but I've met people who... you know... they give explanations of their gender where it's like... someone who kind of just reads to me as a gender-conforming cis man will be like "well i'm not a man because I don't really identify with toxic masculinity". And I'm like ok I'll call you whatever pronouns you want but I don't actually cognitively understand how that's different from being a male feminist. I don't think I could be in a relationship with someone whose gender identity I didn't get at a more than superficial level. At this point it's only speculation but, if this theory is true, then what I think happened was pretty much:

Equating passing as a woman with hotness reveals more about Nikki's delusional fantasy of womanhood than it does about the nature of the judgment experienced by women who aren't hot. So the #1 priority in support of passing should be to minimize male-pattern volume (broad shoulders, thick chests) by shedding muscle and fat, since you can't mess with the bones. You might always look a little off, but in cold hard inches, a skinny trans woman can get closer to an androgynous female model look than an overweight trans woman can get to that mom at the supermarket. The woman in the original tweet talks about losing rental income (on a property she and her husband inherited, due to the father-in-law passing from cancer). The tenants are collecting unemployment but aren’t required to pay rent because of Covid. She loses the income and eventually loses the property. Still had to pay her property taxes the whole time.

Stuffed is a new column from Gal-Dem, which is basically a magazine focused on people of colour from "marginalised genders" (this means women and non binary, and possibly trans men too).
It's basically looking at how poor people and/or people of colour eat vs white wealthy middle class people - so how e.g. jackfruit is a hot new vegan trend (don't just use it as a meat substitute, it's gross like that) but you've been able to get it in London for 30+ years if you went to the Carribean or Indian shops. Or how instead of Giles Coren being a dick about Kaki King's Cross, you could get a local writing about the great cheap Eritrean place in Peckham.
This is super at odds for how I imagine Ollie to be, who's surely far more at home with the Nigella Lawson cookbook with ingredients sourced from Waitrose, and whose experience of "ethnic cuisine" is probably Ottolenghi. I cannot imagine him in a Morley's chicken shop or Brixton market.
