Clownfish TV / Thomas & Kambrea Pratt / Kneon & Geeky Sparkles - The Self-Proclaimed Nemeses of Kevin Smith, Profiting off of Nerd Outrage, Part of the Fandom Menace, Gaslit by a Cartoon

review bombing only brought MOTU more attention. It's currently trending #15 as the most popular show. Number #1 is Loki because nobody watched it, right?

Funny how they were so quick to call out bot reviewers when it came to Star Wars getting good reviews. Basically the Fandom Menace pointed out how there were people that had only reviewed Star Wars Resistance and the accounts were made shortly when user reviews were opened, noticed that there's alot of that with the He-Man stuff here too

I can definitely see something similar happening to Revelations as the years go on
Or it could be the final nail in the coffin for a franchise that has been on life support for decades. Who knows? Time will tell. Does Netflix even release viewership figures for their programming?

No. Sometimes, very rarely, they will release PR bullshit statements that tell you essentially nothing, like "this was the most watched first 3 minutes of a sci fi fantasy show we've ever had". It's bizarrely counterproductive most of the time because everytime they do it people are just doubting/questioning the claim.

An example of it for The Witcher, where they released it had 76 million viewers. But then said that watching anything more than 2 minutes counted as a full view.

He Man has been seen as a meme by most of the internet for years. Most younger people know it from HEYEYEAYEAYEA (the viral video), or from it being referenced in Family Guy or something. Artists and animators way back in the nineties gave it shit for looking cheap and corny, and I remember even seeing a parody of it in an episode of Wander Over Yonder from a few years ago.

It's fascinating to see that people are really this die-hard about Masters of the Universe; i wasn't even aware that people cared about it this much until Clownfish TV and Smith got into this whole kerfuffle. Even Eric July has made a few vids on it, even though he typically just sticks to comics, which granted, is probably why he has an axe to grind with Smith:

There really isn't a younger audience for the IP, overall it's kind of is confusing as to who this show was for. It's like if somebody tried to bring back Gumby, but with a nihilist twist, and as a Netflix exclusive.

Oh neat, I got my wish and someone finally made a thread for Clownfish. I can't believe I've missed it all this time!

Props to @Old Man Mario for making a sub-par Proving Grounds OP, rolling with the feedback & making improvements instead of running away. Also to the people dutifully posting videos and maintaining discourse.

The thread is interesting so far, and different from a lot of other Internet Famous folks. Kneon and Geeky haven't grievously embarrassed themselves or really hit it "big" as spectacles, but there's that delicious potential and they're just interesting enough with their opinions to maintain a steady conversation here. Talking about them means talking about their tastes which shamefully align with a lot of mine. And it's nice to see someone putting those opinions out there to a big audience that immediately puts it under scrutiny, and whether it's dumb or actually informed, they keep going.

Getting into a spat with Kevin Smith is their best accomplishment so far, they try to pick long-distance fights with a lot of media industry morons that deserve it but this is the first time they're getting a public response. Kevin doesn't have to acknowledge little youtubers at all but he can't help himself, just like Mark Waid and ya boi zack.

They still haven't quite hit a "New Guy" meme moment or stolen art supplies yet, but in the meantime you could shore up the OP with a more traditional opening paragraph lifted from another older thread. Here's the kids since I didn't see this family photo in thread yet:

Lots of juicy personal details in an otherwise digital age of preferred privacy; full and maiden names, kids names and ages, school records, detailed history of moves, and career paths. Would Thom & Kambrea care that we've found and archived this article? Probably not, but I'm glad it's here now in case they ever ask for a takedown or edit of this issue of Pux Hometown. Interestingly, the current Youtube wikitubia page for Clownfish shows they moved to Pittsburgh, PA from Punxsutawney after this magazine spotlight so that's a nugget to consider if/when they ever deserve a more thorough doxing than what they gave their neighbors already.

Clownfish TV is an American YouTube channel that focuses on reviewing pop culture including movies, TV, and comics. The channel is operated by several people including, primarily Kneon (born March 5th) and Geeky Sparkles (born April 5th).

Clownfish TV often makes videos on news concerning various aspects of pop culture, such as faux diversity[1]. They are widely known for their videos on Star Wars and animation. Besides its main channel, Clownfish TV manages two separate channels. One for gaming and another for animation and art.

Clownfish TV started out making gameplays of games such as ARK and Bendy and the ink machine, as well as revieiwng Funk Pops. However their first movie commentary video was made in 2017[2], about Star Wars. In 2019, they made multiple[3] videos[4] about the movie Rise of Skywalker, which became very popular and earned them lots of subscribers. Ever since their fame the two have been making videos on Netflix, movies, companies and media trying to be "woke", diversity in media and the decline of comics compared to manga. Their least favorite characters are Captain Marvel and Rey Skywalker as they are Mary Sues. Sometimes they will make reviews of TV shows like The Owl House[5] and Magical Girl Friendship Squad[6], praising the former for being, in their opinions, one of the few good pieces of modern cartoons, as most cartoons these days are at decline[7] and "are for young adults in Portland"[8]. Occasionally they will dip their toes in non political commentary, like the Danish children's TV show, John Dillermand, which is about a man with a huge penis[9].

https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle...iller_18_general&utm_content=killer18_general
The channel also opposes purity culture and media censorship, and defend anime like The Rising of the Shield Hero[10] (an anime that is extremely controversial due to one of the major plot points being about a woman who lies about rape) against detractors, saying that it was just Western audiences who had problems with it, and it shouldn't be censored to coddle them[11]. They have also praised the anime for talking about an issue that society widely ignores. They believe that fiction has no effect on reality, and media that has controversial and problematic elements shouldn't be hated, as at the end of the day, it is just fiction. They have also defended Redo of Healer[12] for the very reason, and in general are huge fans of anime[13]. A lot of their criticisms have been targeted towards Funimation especially since the #KickVic campaign and their tendency to change context and anime dubs[14].

They are extremely critical of modern day Disney, who they regard as greedy, overtly political, hypocritical and corrupt, and whenever Disney encounters a financial loss, they express their happiness (but also lament it in regards to classic Disney content). Each episode that deals with Disney's troubles is often referred to as the "Daily Dose of Dismal Disney", referring to the increasing frequency of said episodes to where it's almost a daily occurrence.

They also comment on Twitter controversies, such as accusations of Sakimichan being racist[15] and art "fixers". Journalists have also been the subject of some of ther videos, especially ones that seem to have a rivalery with Youtube[16].

Thomas Pratt and Kambrea Pratt are a married couple in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. They live with their two kids, nicknamed SquidKing and PinkyBoo. Thomas worked in comics like Disney Ducks, as well as a popular webcomic called Shadowbinders. Kambrea was also an artist in the comic book industry. Many of their videos have been explanations on the downfall of the comic book industry and topic dealing with the problems with Disney.

At first, the channel was focused on gaming with Kneon and SquidKing. But when the announcements of several reboots in particular 2019 Thundercats Roar and She-Ra: Princesses of Power, the channel has gain traction. All the way up to its current 100k subs.

In March 2021, Clownfish TV launched an independent imprint called Clownfish Comics, which will create and crowdfund comic books through Indiegogo.

The first project was a two volume hardcover collection of their 2010-2015 webcomic series Shadowbinders. Confirmed future projects include a third volume of Shadowbinders to complete the series, as well as a new IP called Crimson Rhen (based on an older pitch to Scholastic).

They stated the goal of Clownfish Comics is to create unique stories that are neither standard superhero work, or the "mopey Tumblr autobiographies" of modern woke comic books. They seek target fans of animation, gamers, and general pop culture enthusiasts. They described the indie DIY style as the future of the industry, and to returning to a merit-based world.

They were inspired by the successes of Ethan Van Sciver, Richard C. Meyer, and Boom Studios, as well as many other successful products in the field in recent years, to finally return to the medium.

It is a common misconception that they are Trump supporters[17], but they have clarified that they do not support Trump, and are left leaning moderates[18] - though Kambrea is a libertarian and Thomas is independent.

They resided in Punxsutawney, before moving to Pittsburgh.

  • Kambrea is a natural redhead.
  • Kneon's nickname before the channel started was Kneon Tranzit, the latter of which was dropped to shorten it to the current title.

One of the things that Geeky loves to mention almost as much as her being a redhead, is that she is a teacher and works with kids.
She always does so as a means to lend more credence to an opinion of hers but whenever she brings it up, all I can think of is that she is probably one of the most un-fit adults to teach kids anything. Every damn video she is either breaking down in tears or shrieking loudly enough to wake the dead.

Yeah but we don’t know the new film will be good or not. Wait until it came out in Christmas month.
I mean, releasing anything in December or January usually screams “we’re ready making an excuse for this bombing”, so that’s not exactly a sign of confidence. Add in that Ghostbusters is kinda like Jurassic Park in that there was an amazing first movie then progressively shittier sequels, I’d keep those expectations somewhere near the Marianas Trench...

re: he-man

I am anything but a hardcore fan. But when it was announced I was looking forward to a nice nostalgia trip.

Killing off the main protagonist and making it about a strong female character would be alright, if it wasn't 2021 and THAT is the most pandering thing about a cartoon for 40 year old man-children. I dunno. That just irks me. It's so formulaic. This should've just been a less corny retelling of the he-man show, instead it feels politicized.

It's not a big deal to me, honestly. More so just tiresome because it sometimes feels like they will leave nothing untouched. Shove that god damn diversity and girlpower into everything.

A new Transformers was announced. Bet you it'll be about trannies. Hyuck.

But it's not "woke", I mean...The most political thing about it is Teela's haircut but even that isn't permanent. He-man doesn't "die", we've only seen 5 episodes so far. Teela is maybe a focus of 3, but Evil Lyn, Orco, Andra, Roboto all have character arcs. It's not "Teela" show, it's "Masters of the Universe" show, Teela will become the new Sorceress and she will NOT take over Adam's place. I get it Star Wars and tlou made us all paranoid and I understand not liking it, but it's not a complete show and there's so much deliberate misinformation going on.
Anyway, read this article, it clarifies a few things, but in particular:
- Kevin isn't "woke". People didn't like his decisions for the show, but those were not "agenda" motivated. The "woke" stuff like how the original show was sexist to women were said by Sarah Michelle Gellar who wasn't a fan growing up, so it's her opinion, not Kevin's. Smith, on the other hand, pointed out that female characters were always a big part of the show, so it's not "woke" to have them play a bigger role in Revelation as it doesn't contradict the original show's spirit.
- The idea behind the show wasn't even his, it was Rob David who brought him in because he wanted the show for adults who grew up with the original toys, since there's already an upcoming He man reboot for kids.
- Smith didn't tell fans to "grow the f up", he was referring to people who assumed He-man is dead for good and won't be coming back. Specific quote: "You really fucking think Mattel Television, who hired me and paid me money, wants to do a fucking 'Masters of the Universe' show without He-Man? Grow the fuck up, man."
Again, maybe he could have worded himself differently, but this is Kevin Smith, that's how he always talks. But he didn't say people aren't allowed to dislike the show, so that needs to be corrected.
- Part 2 is more He-man centric and Adam will have his powers back, so you can see how Clownfish's "rumours" were not correct.

Anyway, I understand that people wanted a "Adam is the main character in every episode" kinda show, but I still recommend to stay tune for part 2, I'm personally excited because I always shipped Adam and Teela and I loved how their relationship was portrayed. Designs could have been better, but still... Lots of hate around it is overblown.

As for the TRANSformers, well... I hate to ruin childhoods, but we had Troon bots in the comics for years now. And it hasn't even started with the woke crowd, believe it or not, this was all Simon Furman being a cuck not wanting to have fembots in the comics ("Transformers are genderneutral, which is MALE"), so he made Arcee a troon. :drink:

This is some excellent work. Great find. To the point that all that really is left is confirming the current speculated home address that was used for the llc. 50/50 on if they actually moved to Pittsburgh. They are making more money thanks to youtube and other projects, but they could also be trying to throw people off because they know stuff like this is out there. Voting records will be the key to finding out. (Geeky claims to volunteer at voting locations all the time. It's just a matter of finding the public record and right district.)

Also, totally called their daughter was named Kairi, the Kingdom Hearts love was obvious.

The first Kingdom Hearts game was 2002, KH2 in 2005, Kairi Pratt was age 9 in 2016 meaning she was born in 2007. At least she's not named something more embarrassing like Leia or Daenerys, Kairi is relatively obscure and can be played off as one of the other popular K-names white girls have been getting since the 90's.

Perhaps I'm just old fashioned or perhaps I knew the industry at one time. I saw the changes starting in the late 90's after the comic book industry collapse. Part of my dreams in creating content were shattered by some that Generation FAIL has put on a pedestal of today.

To them now it is a right of passage to destroy the past in any shape as possible. Nothing is sacred. Everything is fair game and held to the progressive standards of Extremism Hollywood/Entertainment Industry/Socialistic Ideals.

The problem is that there are enough assholes in Generation Fail to make this still profitable. It is the outlet for their own failures in life. They can't make it on their own so they will twitter rage on a platform to tear everything down.

There is a reason "why" I left the work force in 2006. Yea I could have made a few more mil, but at what fucking cost? I've seen this shit coming and I wanted no part of it.

This sickness you see on TV/Cable is a system of a failed ideology that has mutated into something that is called "Socialistic Capitalism", also known as Neo Fuedalism. This is a real thing now that more and more people are seeing the separation of society.

Anyone that does not conform to the ideals of where they work will be gate keep/removed/stalled in promotions/separated from financial wealth.

Those are the hardcore facts that the ignorant fail to understand until it is too late. They will be too old as society dictates and their value declines by those who hold power in their lives by the way of the economy.

So you have those in Hollywierd, whose value has been decline such as Kevin Smith. What has he really done of note? He's now a taking head for an ideology to make himself relevant. From a Stoner Character in a movie to a Boot Licker Producer/Influencer so he can continue make money and live his lifestyle by doing this shit over and over and over again.

It's easy to for them to be Edgy... Because they can't Fucking create. Only imitate/Destroy/Reset. And it shows on the quality of Television/Cable of today. No one Creates anymore. They DATA MINE OLD IPS. We had some many miserable reboots and retcons in the last 10 years because that is the general mindset of today. Imitate... Update... But NO CREATE.

The fact that he is a Gen Xer only proves my point again of those people that are in true power in this society are not the Boomers... They are much too old now but the Generation Jones (Obama, Tim Cook, Jeff Bezos) and elements of Generation X. They are calling the shots. They are the ones that hold true power in this world by using Social Media, Peddling Influencers, Twitter Mobs, Entertainment Industry, News Media and anything that they can twist/mode/perverse of the past to get their social ideology across.

As far as Smith is Concern his time is coming. Trying to pretend that he is still young when he is pushing 50 is telling. Just like the Kardashians, you only have a certain amount of time to be relevant in the entertainment industry and unless you are able to reinvent yourself, you are going to be cast aside.

That is the price of being "Stunning and Brave"... and for the rest of us, who are normal... we have to suffer with this nonsense.

So many in one day.
Remember my comment about how Tubers make money. It's about volume and not so much about true quality.

This is what happens when you place yourself fully into a digital economy. You are at the mercy of the Gate Keepers (YT). They make the money and give you the chump change. In order to offset the low amount (price per 1000 views) you have to do volume.
