The only context in which I see a decent meaning for the phrase is when it's referring to not being authentic to yourself because you are going against your own values. For example "I am a pacifist and yet I work in weapons manufacturing, I am going to find a new line of work so I can be more authentic to myself" or something like that.

But similar to what you said, it doesn't work if the values you hold dear are 'being selfish' and 'cooming.' Authenticity is an amoral concept once you consider that some people's 'true selves' are not that great.

I think that’s the important distinction: adults and good people “live authentically” by performing actions that are in line with their values and morals and what they have promised others. When shit people live authentically, they’re rutting against furniture and neglecting hygiene, like they would do if there were no rules or other people weren’t real or consequential.

I’ve noticed troon and TRA homophobia is staring to get kickback. Nobody gave a shit about the lesbians, but now the fags are getting the same stick they’re getting pretty pissed off. I really hope it ratchets up, because angry gays may be the first sign of the balance finally tipping back towards sanity.

'Living authentically' is just newspeak for being a selfish cunt and doing whatever you want. Just like the HAAS movement and glorifying being a whore, degenerates have found yet another way to wear their complete lack of accountability like a badge of honour.

I'm sure there are any number of parents who sometimes wish they could drop everything and go be a painter in some Romanian commune or what the fuck ever, but like any normal person they recognise part of being a functional adult/member of society means compromise, sometimes putting the needs of others before your own and not always giving in to your every fleeting desire.
