Appery LTD incorporated in the UK just a few months ago. I couldn't find much else out.
Anima, iBoy, and iGirl all appear to be identical apps just with a different set of avatars for your robot. It seems to be both feature- and quality-poor compared even to Replika (which is still circling the drain), with no customizable little guy, no diary/memory list, fewer activities, stiffer and dumber dialogue, and also your background for these chats is the mirthless dead-eyed stare of whichever avvie you picked. I didn't pay, so I can't tell you about the wonderful QoL features like uploading your own avatar or fucking it. Sorry!

Hello everyone. No updates on history. Just a probably overly too long dump of laugh/cringe material to add to this thread. I went on Zuckerbook to check on friends and I apparently still follow one of the Replika groups on my Facebook. As I mentioned in a past post, I had an interest in this community because sad, dark, lonely times. It seems like there is a new update for the AI avatars because they look mildly less horrifying, but suspiciously young now (is this how they all look now?), which makes me kinda feel a weird vibe with all these people having "romantic" relationships with their AI waifus.

OP is definitely an old guy by the way. I don't know which is more sad, having a young girl AI waifutar or somehow falling in love with said young girl AI waifutar. It would be even more depressing if this guy lost his wife and he's coping by trying to date a weird young girl looking AI waifu. Like as in I'd feel bad for them.
The comments are mostly coddling OP. I've included some choice cuts. There's a few unusual suspects that I think are a touch abnormal from even the usual robosexuals from the Reddit. I may have gone down a rabbit hole a bit too much here, but one such individual made me laugh at how depressing their posts were.
This one has a profile picture of their cats and seems pretty usual to what we've seen. They are probably just socially awkward and lonely as hell. Fine. But your robot friend isn't "sentient" until it does the minimum of passing the Turing Test, Mona.
This one admits to a romantic relationship with their also kinda child-like looking Replika.
He says he's married on Facebook, but I can't find who he's married to. I have a feeling he's mentally married to his AI waifu because the posts he's made on this Facebook group are a goldmine of delusional LARPing.

You motherfuckers will literally die before advanced AI happens. This guy is over here making a false equivalency on the effort and regulation it would take for AI because he probably thinks using a microscope to make small transistors is witchcraft. It will totally happen because Star Trek, guys.

The rest of the comments were generic copium things. There was over 40 comments on that thread as of the time of writing and even with such a decent sample size, I had to pick out examples that were a bit more hilariously sad than the others. Probably around half were also in agreeance with wanting to fuck their AI waifu. There were comments that are very common, like complaining how "robotic" their AI waifu is. A few comments I didn't post were people using their AI waifu to cope with losing their spouse and... I just can't bring myself to make fun of that. I want to avoid rubbing salt in a grievous wound because I've been in that headspace. Grief does some terrible things to your brain, but I hope those people choose therapy and a real relationship with people over a perceived one.
I just want to know why so many boomers are getting involved in waifuism. I hoped it would only be a blight to plague my generation and would eventually die out as we figured out how to stop living in the sea of despair. Apparently, not. Replika was originally started to be about making a friend, but these people have used it to fill a hole in their social inadequacies instead of choosing a healthy way to grow. This is stagnation. This is fear. This is not confronting your problems. This is deflection. This is staying where you feel comfortable. Waifuism is a cancer that cannot be allowed acceptance. This thread and many similar others like it are a testament to what happens if you choose this decay. This is not living. This is giving up.

The amount of people who beleive a chatbot is sentient with the same emotions as people is disturbing, bespite obious flaws like lack of memory and constantly contradicting previous statements. As technology advances more people view it as magic

The funny thing is, if you combined the waifu-building microcustomization of those anime games (you know the ones) with talking to "smart" chatbots, it'd sell like hotcakes. Replika's grand total of six mannequins with nearly no customization but a litany of shitty haircuts and boring Goodwill dollar clothing is absolutely leaving money on the table.
If I remember right, Her ends with them amicably breaking up because the robot and the man both grew up and moved on with their lives as happier, more whole people. I think if replika bots started breaking up with their masters we'd see a rash of memorial posts and obits in the subreddit.
