Friday Night Funkin - Getting freaky on a friday night

Someone said this earlier but I would love for a Twitter art thread general to have both woke and porn artists.

Anyways it feels like the fandom is entering a drought. No new weeks, no new big mods besides Whitty and Carol date. I tried to watch it but the music was boring.

From the Carol & Whitty date mod:

I find it interesting that people already think best parts of the FNF mods are finished. Yeah mods are going to keep being made and probably improving as well, but the game hasn’t even been finished yet and it’s mod community is dying.
I just didn't expect it for it to happen so quickly. I mean, shit, both the fanbases for Five Nights at Freddy's and Undertale managed to have their heydays last for at least a good few years before their communities became stagnant or fell apart.

FNAF and Undertale both had potential for more fanworks than just mods, and had more content coming from the developers.

FNAF: Several games with "deep" lore from MatPat that could be spun off into fan games, fan stories, etc.
Undertale: A complete game with several routes of "deep" lore from the game itself and MatPat that could be spun off into fan games, fan stories, etc. Also had several ports with additional content.

And then you've got Friday Night Funkin. Inherently there's only 7 stages for a player to dig into without mods, and mods can only go so far due to it being a rhythm game, compared to the more complex horror and RPG genres. There's also no story to speak of outside of offhand comments from the developers.
Also, the mods have been getting a lot more samey, the last mod I remember being interested in (not counting bbpanzu's shit mods, he is funny to observe) was Background Boogie and that only had like 1 song as it was a demo. It's just a foregone conclusion that people are going to feel burnout on the game with the limited places it can be taken.

Maybe. I just hope that, if and when the developers ever end up finishing the game, the story will somehow be incorporated into the weeks (i.e. dialogue, cutscenes ect.).

I imagine that's the plan considering that there are apparently weeks in between the current seven that give some context on the "who, what, where and why" of what is going on.

Probably. Though, I can't imagine them ever finishing that goal and the other ones they promised on their Kickstarter with the current team that they've got; I mean, one programmer, two artists, and one composer? Really? Sounds like a scam ready to happen.

I must confess my sin on this funkin' Wednesday. I truly and utterly believe that Garcello is a heavily overrated mod. It could be because i only like one song but i really do think Garcello is not that good. Like first of all in terms of Garcello's design it feels bland and I'm pretty sure i drew a character like this in fucking middle school. The vibe and songs are pretty good due to the mods theme. Garcello's death? Let me talk about that shit i don't find it bad by any means but whenever I see a comment like "dude i fucking cried when the guy died" or "I teared up during fading man" I cannot help but internally call you a pussy. You have met this character in just a couple of minutes and you grew a strong enough relationship with him to cause you to cry? Pussy.

Smoke 'em out is a good mod but fuck me is it overrated. I blame this feeling due to me seeing the V.S omega week and people actually calling a fantastic mod. Feels like the community is just digging through a dumpster just to find a gilded coin or worst a nugget.

I definitely wouldn't say it's a real tear jerker or anything, but it is a really solid mod in my opinion. It's got really good music, nice visuals, a basic, yet effective character design for the main "antagonist", and the writing isn't half bad either. Now, is it the Jesus of all FNF mods? No. Are there better mods out there? Definitely. But I think it definitely deserves some of the praise that it gets. Then again, I am a little biased since I believe SeoS to be one of my favorite FNF mods, but still.
