According to his LinkedIn, he's trilingual. Spanish, English, and Japanese. I don't have a LinkedIn account so I only had access to his page by archiving it. I couldn't expand any of his contact or recommendation lists to see how deep his non-weeb Japanese connections are. I can only find the one video of him and the entire thing is in Spanish, so I can't verify he speaks fluent Japanese beyond finding where to buy pocky and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. I am curios how his English sounds. He types naturally but there's no telling how/why/when he learned English. Probably a white parent, and Spain has a couple pockets of dense US Navy presence in Palma and Roda. I don't know if his backstory/upbringing is public, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's the result of US military sexual imperialism.

The lowest grade of westerner here are the monolingual-waste-of-tax-payers-money English teachers. He obviously is well above that level. He seems to be self sponsoring his visa/has been here long enough with a good enough salary to take the permanent residence speedrun path. The freelancer thing could be a lie but Japanese companies usually have rules against moonlighting without permission in employment contracts so being employed but saying you're freelance on linkedin would be a bad idea. You can't just arrive here and self sponsor yourself as a freelancer. There isn't even a "freelancer" visa. It's basically a hack. You get a crap job here. Slog it out for a while until you get $30K or $40K of contracts from Japanese companies secured and then when you go to renew your visa present the freelancing contracts instead of a normal employment contract and hope that they issue you a visa.

Anyway... I may have solved this case with a mere curious click/tap on a profile. I was on this thread for a while, and then ventured to the original (and locked, since 28 June) thread on Near/Byuu to better understand the catalyst for this glorious month-long shitshow. I went back a page to just before the final correspondence between Byuu and Null. I saw Byuu's last post and avatar, and I clicked on his avatar out of curiosity. To my astonishment, Byuu was online less than 20 minutes before. I just checked again after composing this post, and he was last on 16 mins ago.


The situation is one of three plausible scenarios:


1.) Our little furry friend is still among the living and is relishing the clusterfuck he set off;


2.) They divulged their password to an accomplice/compatriot before they committed suicide and they are on here in Byuu's place;


3.) Same as #2, except Byuu is still alive.


I conclude #1 is overwhelmingly the most likely scenario, followed by #2 and #3. I thus shall cautiously optimistically state this- Glad you didn't go through with it and you're still amongst us, you shameless, guilt-tripping, suicide-baiting, fucking jackass, Byuu. I really mean that. Also, cute avatar!

I think this is publicly claimed by Hector/Marcan. Hectors LinkedIn page linked an 8 odd year old YouTube video of him presenting posted by his University, which comfirms that Hector Martinez is a real person. Main issue now is whether David Kirk Ginder has any record of being dead in Japan. According to USA today his boss had confirmed the death as well so now I'm not sure.
