Fat Acceptance Movement / Fat Girlcows

I don't know if this information is already out there somewhere, but I've seen people speculating on Ash of the Fat Lip's weight before, so adding it just in case.

Out of morbid interest, I made an account on Feabie (which seems like a cross between Facebook for fat admirers and a regular dating site?) to see Ash's account there, and she lists her weight (as of 5 months ago) as 583 points. At 5' 7", that makes her BMI 92.
View attachment 2384423
More Feabie stalking: this comment on her page suggests that the 583 weight is actually way out of date, so she must be over 600 now, maybe even pushing 700. Jesus.

Well my friends, I took the bullet.

The guest on today's podcast is Simply Mander - Amanda, a crossfitter. April says "she's the first person who doesn't know me, has never interacted with me or my channel", which struck me as a bit weird given that her audience isn't that big to begin with. Amanda works for a nutrition company and her husband owns a gym.

April starts off strong after a cringy "radio-style" announcement, and shills Built Bars. She looks very passionate when talking about all the different flavours. Guess we know what she's binging.

Onto the main event - Amanda asks about April and Jenna's relationship. Turns out, they met at a friend of their husbands' Superbowl party. April says "I didn't expect Jenna to love working out so much", which is kind of funny coming from her. The guest doesn't seem to care at all about their stories. She just stares blankly and periodically says "okay, okay, omg wow" in that super fake tone.

Amanda then talks about her journey. She started crossfit in 2014 because she felt weak and small, and wanted to be strong "like the girls from Tumblr". It took her three times to even go to the gym because she was intimidated by jacked gym bros doing kettle bell carries in the parking lot. When she finally made it out of her car, she got private sessions with an instructor "when there was no one else around" before signing up for beginner crossfit classes because she was scared of people judging her.

It's pretty telling that April and her share the same anxiety about "gym intimidation" when in reality nobody cares about them, and if anything people are usually supportive and willing to help. I've noticed it in a lot of self-obsessed girls - they'll keep stressing about "omg what will those gym bros think of me. Am I sweaty? omg, omg I must be disgusting to look at", when literally no one gives a fuck. As other posters mentioned, if you have time to judge others at the gym, you ain't working hard enough.

For the recovery after working out, Amanda talks about the importance of sleep and eating enough (April's probably going to take it as a cue to binge). Nothing she says is really mind-blowing or new.

Amanda did an Undergrad in Nutritional Science. She is a "holistic nutritional therapy practitioner", not a registered nutritionist. She says she decided against going for registered dietician because the clinical scientific approach is "very old school". She's been coaching people for seven years. She hates "diet culture" and says the diet & fitness industries are the most frustrating out there.

April says she's terrible at tracking food. At some point, she had apparently gone to a bariatric centre, got put on a diet, and lost a lot of weight. It was most likely before 2014, prior to her marriage, since she mentions exercising 3 to 5 hours a day and hiking on weekends to keep the weight off. She says she's facing criticism for going slow on her weight loss journey.

Amanda complains about paleo diets demonising processed foods, and diets in general. She says everything is good in moderation, and that "keto" has immediate results because water molecules attach themselves to carbohydrates, so cutting carbs will immediately reduce your bloating & swelling, same as with sodium. There's no reason to do diets unless you have a medical condition.

Next, April starts parroting HAES talking points. "When I go to the doctor and my foot hurts, he doesn't automatically have my whole medical history and health. And if he says my foot is fine, but I know it hurts, I need a second opinion." (I don't remember in what context she says that, and I cba going back to listen to it again).

Regarding the "finding your maintenance number" part, I fazed out because it was boring, and she talks about Total Daily Expenditure (TDE), and finding out the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is like how much energy (calories) you burn per day without doing anything at all. Amanda also admits she's not qualified to treat people with eating disorders.
{If you're actually interested in TDE, BMR etc. I recommend reading Part One of Why We Eat (Too Much), New Science of the Appetite. It's a fairly interesting book by a bariatric surgeon, and part one is just your beginner's guide to metabolism. (The rest of the book is duller.}

Somehow, while I was writing that, the podcast changed from metabolism talk to the heart-worm treatment for Amanda's dog. And from that, they went on a "depression & anxiety" tangent. Amanda says she was sharing posts about her mental health on Tumblr, and how it helped her realise that she wasn't the only one feeling that way. She says her best friend ("literally my other half") is subscribed to April's channel.

Then, April recycles her previous videos by talking about pausing her weight loss, but not "staying there". It's almost sentence-by-sentence the shit she said in her videos about her plateau. That's when I tuned out again because that mental health talk was boring af and nothing we haven't heard before in April's content.

To end the podcast, Amanda says you have to work for the person you are now, not the person you will / could be in the future. It reminded me of Terry Pratchett's Night Watch - "just do the work in front of you", and all that jazz.

Not sure why Jenna was there. She didn't participate and looked distracted for most of the podcast.

This. I cannot emphasise how important this mindset is. PL : I tried telling it to my friends, but consumerism prevailed. One of them spent over 1k€ on Gym Shark & LuluLemon gear after watching YT hauls (which is kind of funny, because I had initially recommended Natacha Oceane's channel to her for workouts not "style"), and got her mom to invest in her 800€ home elliptical trainer, and now we're over one year into the pandemic, and she's packed on weight (and not muscles).

Tbf the only thing I'd invest in from the start are decent shoes, and only if you're actually running (by "you", I mean in general, not you as a poster specifically). You don't need that to go do half an hour on the elliptical, just like you don't need weightlifting shoes for 10kg barbell deadlifts, or biking shoes to do a spinning class. If you plan on running however, especially on asphalt / concrete, I would get running shoes with some cushioning. But those can be found cheaply. Hell, when I started, I got some Asics Windhawks for 28€ at a Decathlon clearance.
Clothing though? Lmao who cares.
I feel like you deserve a medal or an award of some sort for assailing your ears to that pointless drivel. I agree that you don't need to buy a plethora of "workout gear" unless it's something like running regularly or training for a marathon or something. I don't buy a lot of expensive crap to work out. I mean...what the hell does one need a hiking backpack for doing an alleged 3 mile walk??? Walking is free. Investing in gym equipment (i.e. a pair of dumbbells, stability ball or resistance bands) is somewhat necessary if you don't want to go to the gym. But you do not need to spend hundreds of dollars to psyche yourself into working out. If HEALTH is the FIRST incentive, it shouldn't matter what you wear. I buy fitness clothes that are cheap because the look isn't the essential part of it.

Danielle McAllister says she hates kids and doesn’t want any and has no interest in dating or looking for a companion. I wonder if she pleasures herself other than stuffing her face. she is a fascinating cow in that like someone said above, she gives zero shits about what she eats and who sees it. Danielle is the dark horse of all these cows. A stealth deathfat if there ever was one. You rarely think of her, but when you dive into her social media, it’s a fucking goldmine.
Waiting for her own thread, to be honest.

April's latest "shopping vlog". She starts off by showing the new bed sheets she ordered from Parachute. She talks about the boxes from the moving that still haven't been picked up. Apparently, the moving company doesn't have to do it anymore, so April argued with them on the phone about it. Guess that clears up my questions from several pages ago - April is indeed too lazy to sort them out to reuse later on, or throw them out herself. She also still hasn't filed claims for all the missing & damaged stuff, including a computer and a mattress.

Next, she goes furniture shopping at Kirklands, and then at Target. Turns out they got rid of all their stuff, including dressers and nightstands, just for the sheer fact of getting rid of it. April even says it's good that they threw away all their former furniture just to have a "new style" for their home. How on earth can they afford it? The more videos I watch of her, the more confused I am regarding their finances. Does the US army pay way more than the French one? Did her husband stumble upon and subsequently claim an oil well with his buddies? How the fuck? In between all of April's impulse buys (clothes, food, shoes, gym equipment, dog gear), their tech (Macs, Apple Watches), and all the furniture they have to buy for their home, how are they not bankrupt?

April claims she's back at 299.2lbs and that her body's just swelling due to heat. She says she's not motivated to work out in her gym, so she's been walking. A year into her fitness journey, and she's completely out of breath and sweaty as hell after a 3 mile walk with her dog. #goals

Rate me late but, does April also have some kind of shopping addiction?
April is addicted to anything that delivers a quick dopamine hit. I imagine it's because there is some massive void within her she is too dumb or afraid (or both) to confront. She just yeets food, clothing, and nicknacks into the ever expanding chasm in her spirit hoping something will eventually be The Thing That Fills The Empty. A lot of our sad fats are like this. Tbh, a lot of people generally can get like this in bad times. But at least some people are blessed with a crumb of self awareness that helps them snap out of their self destruction cycles. April is not.

That being said, I hope it doesn't sound like I'm too sympathetic to April cuz I am not. Her obvious laziness in addition to her ""hauls"" are just so deeply annoying. I dunno what she's waiting around for or what she thinks her future looks like. I can't imagine not appreciating a full blown home gym and remaining a butterball in spite of having all day every day to enjoy such a luxurious accoutrements in your fucking house.

I can't get too moti about her though because she has to live with being shaped like humpty dumpty.

From experience using PHDc is very frowned upon you are not allowed to use this indication unless you are well into the process of obtaiing a phd and you are not supposed to use it as an abreviation because it tricks people into thinking you have a phd. PHDc means phd candidate which means you have finished course work for a dissertation, but have yet to to finish the dissertation itself. It's grounds for expulsion from phd programs and pretty much banned from re-entering to mispresent in this way.

I don't know what rank her husband is, but if he isn't commissioned, he's probably not making a ton of money. They probably get a housing allowance also because there usually isn't enough housing available at any Army post, but that's based on the cost of living in the area. There are shopping clubs of sorts for military, so they could be getting some of the tech at a good discount. But April is probably like most military wives living off credit cards and racking up massive debt. If she doesn't rein it in, her husband could be counseled on finances. She should go get a damn job.

As to the swelling because of heat, is she a hot air balloon? What the actual fork. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

I can't. I just can't. She annoys me to no end. I just want to slap her into oblivion at this point. I pray I never run into her. She lives in the same state as me. Of course if I literally run into her I will die. Swelling from the heat is the dumbest excuse I have ever heard. She is a space cadet.

One more thing... What happened to using her home gym?? I would do that instead of walking in extreme temps here.

I've never seen thighs do this...it looks like they formed a lower butt.
At a certain point, fat stops following the symmetrical distribution pattern set by the skeleton and muscles. It runs of logical places to go and just ends up being distributed randomly. There's also lipodemia, which accounts for this in the lower body.

Feabie is pure, uncut insanity. Women having public meltdowns every day for easy money and/or attention. They advertise as a "dating site," but the news feed reads like a Tumblr post trying to appeal to whatever wishy-washy issue the current fetish "model" is preaching. All you have to do is browse a random FA forum to find people who are outraged by what goes on there.

Some info around April and her situation.

First off, when the military moves you, the contracted moving company typically only takes the boxes if you have them unpack. If you unpack, you're now responsible for the boxes. It is highly irregular for the contracted company to return for the boxes as they're disposable items and they roll the cost of new boxes for the shipment into the cost that they charge the military upon drafting the contract for the move.

However, I will say that April's a lazy shitmonger - as they're in a military populated area, there's always going to be some schmuck who's getting ready to perform a DITY (do it yourself) move, and would LOVE some free boxes. Just about every neighborhood/base/ombudsman's group/military wives group has a Facebook page where you could advertise free boxes for pickup. Hell, you can just take a picture of your empty boxes in the garage, and they'll race over to break them down and take them away.

Selling off their furniture could have been a means to come in under weight, meaning that her husband's not an especially high rank. Or it could be that their furniture was old shit and they just dumped it. Because if it's in the house when the contractor movers come, they'll pack it. Yes, they will pack a full litter box. It'll get its own special box and stuffed with paper and everything. They will also pack your trash cans. With trash in them. It's real good to be on top of your household when they're packing and ensure all disposable items are properly disposed of, otherwise you're going to be disposing of them at your new abode when they unpack. Anyway, getting rid of the old shit is sus to me - I think it was trash and they got rid of it. If they sold it due to weight concerns, that's fucking stupid because all the military will do is skim a few bucks off your paycheck (usually no more than $50-100 per each 15 day period) to recoup the excess costs until they've reclaimed the price of the overage (which, even if you're a full 50% over what you're allowed, typically takes no more than 6 payments).

Where does the money for new shit come from? Depends on his MOS - if he is in a high-demand rating, he could be entitled to a SRB (selective reenlistment bonus). Yes, this would require him to be eligible for reenlistment and to actually want to do it, but if he did and he's entitled to a bonus it could be where extra money's coming from. However, I think it's more likely that she's thinking they will get a lot of money from the transportation reimbursement from the military for driving to your new location (to which I lol, because the pay for milage is approximately dick and a few pennies). She may also be banking on a large reimbursement from their missing/damaged claim (which is slightly more than dick - it's more like dick and a singular ball. aka: it's not enough to upgrade to new items. It'll be about 1/4 to 1/2 of the market value of your used item). She may be thinking they'll get thousands - when in actuality, for a computer and a mattress and a move, they're looking at likely a grand at best. Perhaps 2 if their computer was brand new.

However, if she doesn't get that claim filed ASAP, she's going to get nothing. The military loves their deadlines, and you've got to account for the morons in disbursing losing your paperwork about three times before it's properly filed.

$80 for a single top-sheet? What the hell is this website?

Guess talking about wearing two sports bras for increased support for big chested chicks, or mentioning blisters (both feet and hands if you lift, do tractions, or even row), sweat, or the fact that most high-wasted leggings will slide down when you move if you don’t have a flat stomach, no matter how much “compression” they have, or the difference between zero drop shoes and cushioned ones, and why the latter are probably better for fatties despite engaging the muscles less, just isn’t glamorous enough.
Don't forget the chafing, even if you're not overweight, and the weird thing some shorts do where they ride up in the crotch, and gym-bag stank, and...

Don't most if not all baby food have pureed fruits? Or did you mean fresh fruit, like sliced apple, whole strawberry?
Babies shouldn't be eating pureed fruit, even if it's offered as a baby-food option. They can have fruit-fruit, but the point everyone is trying to get at is that you don't want them to get a taste for concentrated fructose.
No 8-month-old is going to be eating 3 apples in one sitting, but they might consume that much sugar in puree/treats/whatever.

As to the swelling because of heat, is she a hot air balloon? What the actual fork. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
It's a thing, but in her case she is unquestionably using it as an excuse. Heat swelling can make rings hard to get off or make your underclothing feel weird, sometimes it's enough to make you get temporary cankles or things like that in bad cases. It's definitely not enough to account for everything April has going on nor would it explain the weight gain.

Waiting for her own thread, to be honest.
She's so smug for being such a behemoth...truly one of the gorls...

:suffering:I've never seen thighs do this...it looks like they formed a lower butt.

What's the level beyond cankles? Columns?
Like @JamesFargo pointed out, there's a chance it's lipedema. Column-legs are one of the diagnostic criteria.

So let me get this straight, you want someone to assemble your furniture, unpack and put away your entire wardrobe (and tbh probably most of your belongings as well), and run your errands for zero compensation? This person(s) is supposed to sacrifice their time and do all this work for you, for free? You can't at least give them some gas money? The entitlement of these people is ridiculous.
Also it's funny how this person is so terrified of covid that they can't go into their local Best Buy, but not terrified enough to monitor their food intake.

Meh, doubt. LapBand has really fallen out of favor within the last 10 years or so. The failure rate is too high. It's very easy to cause the band to move out of place by eating too much, thus returning the stomach to its normal volume and defeating the purpose. The major advantage of the Lap Band, which made it so popular in the early to mid oughts, was that it's a less invasive surgery, with shorter recovery time, and it's adjustable. More invasive measures, like roux en y or sleeve gastrectomy, actually remove stomach tissue, which means a tougher recovery and less flexibility, but makes them harder to stretch back out. Never say never to a determined deathfat, though. Turns out that if you just slap a (Lap) Band Aid on someone who has eaten themselves into morbid obesity trying to fill a psychological void, but you don't first prod the depths to address the root of their consumption issue, they'll just continue eating their feelings post-surgery.

Oh I remember that transfat person, they were involved in some controversy with a popular drag queen from drag race. I’ll try and find caps of it but basically the popular queen did a performance in a wheelchair and this fag got so upset about it they went on a tirade for a bit, basically asking for an apology and money.
