There are so many ways this could get weird though.
Say the Dems lose one or both chambers of Congress in '22 and they publicly scapegoat Kamala. Then Biden's brains finally start running out of his nose and he gets 25ed by his cabinet. Qween Kamala ascends to her rightful throne. Republicans hate her. Democrats have already back stabbed her. What does she do?
And add an extra pinch of chaos if Congress declines to approve whoever she nominates for Vice President.

It's not. What they want is a steady influx which they can control for minimum political cost. That influx provides a steady source of new votes when they have kids who become citizens by default. The complete invasion is none of that, and because it's so uncontrolled and uncontrollable it's causing them to hemorrhage political capital around it. It's not clean, tidy, or even effective.

And given how generally impotent the VP slot is and how Biden has all sorts of people circling him and controlling him, combined with the notion of "if shit hits the fan, blame Biden!" strategy going on? I would not be shocked if Kamala has Lex Luthor moments as VP where she's screeching "do you know how much power I gave up to be VP?"
If shit goes bad and moreso, if the House is lost in 2022, Biden's fucked. He'll be 25th Amendmented and Kamala will be plotting an exit strategy to survive to live another day. She'll probably agree to eat shit and make nice with the right, maybe even proactively offering to force Biden out for the right, in exchange for a peaceful two years as a lame duck President. She'll refuse to
run again in 2024 and first chance she can, run for her old Senate seat and rejoin the Senate like nothing ever happened.

The Washington Post released an article tonight citing an unpublished CDC report that shows the delta variant spreads just as easily from vaccinated people as unvaccinated people. Apparently this is the information the WH and CDC will use to justify the lockdowns in August.
