More interesting is the discussion of Caanan White when the search for Eric July's artist came up.
Have to agree with Frog on this one. SuperBurgerMan was one of the worst things to happen to indie comics of all time.
Eric having never heard of Caanan offers up rather plainly "Ill pay you more than whatever the weirdos are paying" And considering Eric July's platform, clout and influence I believe that. I would love to see Caanan get a project worthy of his skills.
Speaking of Caanan It seems he's not doing
DeathShroud #2 a project I wrote about before involving some big names in the mainstream such as Brett Booth and Ryan Stegman
This is the guy who is doing issue two of that book

I have no idea what happened there, but it was one of Caanan's higher profile projects. It seems now would be the perfect time for Eric July to make him an offer he shouldn't refuse. Especially since it seems Caanan's commissions are closed. Hear that Jon?

Once Eric sees Caanan's artwork it's pretty much an immediate, "Come on wit it obviously right up the alley of what we're lookin' for, let's make it happen...let's make some money"
The Chat is also very receptive to the idea
Mike S. Miller was in the chat offering to text Caanan about the Eric July project.
Frog says NO! I'll reach out to Caanan.
Sketch Therapy at some point spergs out in the chat

Anyway Jon then publicly disparages Caanan's work Ethic "
He's not going to deliver" In front of someone who is potentially interested in hiring him. A Guy who has over 400k subs on youtube, 11k followers on twitch and a band. He's known outside of comics for his political work even. This could be the big break that Caanan needs.
I won't Jspit myself here and cover the entire stream, but being Caanan's biggest fan on the farms I have to question Jon over his comments. ComicsGate was about being able to make money in comics without being cancelled. Now we have one of the most prominent figures in the movement publicly lambasting an artist over his ability to make a book. While that is definitely a concern, Jon is drinking and angry. It almost comes off as a personal grudge.
This is one of those conversations you either don't have in the first place, or one on one instead of in the public eye. Maybe Eric does need to know that's been Jon's experience with Caanan, but live on air, drunk and angry is probably not the answer either.
If Caanan's issue is he is so strapped for cash that he takes commissions Eric July's offer would hopefully take care of that issue anyway right?
"Eric, hire this guy but keep him busy" would be a lot better than publicly taking a shit on his ability to deliver a book on time.
I've been shit on before for supporting Mike and his CG constitution, but one golden rule of ComicsGate to consider should go without saying...
Don't fuck with someone else's ability to make money. That's for SJWs.

I for one would love to see Caanan work with Eric July on his book. He's too good of an artist to remain in the obscurity of SuperHamburgers. Caanan was one of the reasons I got excited about ComicsGate in the first place. It's not only free of political agendas in entertainment, there's some really fantastic artists doing their best work in CG.
