They have messaging about building back better, too, but that's been massively derailed by unwillingness and indolence within the party. the only reason im optimistic is it's still 2021...the previous election / start of the pandemic is a memorable year no one will forget. They blamed Trump. No one can blame Trump even if they are trying to come up with any political thing to drag him back into the spotlight. The midterms aren't for another year and people are extremely unhappy.
'being mad at the unvaccinated' does not also equate to 'i have to change my life for the unvaccinated'. So many contradicting arguments is breaking even stalwart normies.

The logic loops are already breaking its part of why they need to get a rush on it now. Favorability towards Biden's covid policy has fallen month over month since he got in office.
The Eviction Moratorium Bill -in theory- should be easy to pass since even a fair bit of Republicans should be fine with it. The problem, and I am calling it now, is that the Democrats will try to pair it with a bunch of other bullshit and lose Republican support.
It will go nowhere, because the entire thing has been Trump playing them. It cost him very little to use the government's resources and a few of his own to fight them on this. It doesn't take an analytical genius to realize that the Democrats -hate- not getting what they want, they focus on it to an unhealthy degree, -obsess- over it, turning it into the biggest thing ever in their minds.
The thing is, nobody outside the Democrats gives two fucks about Trump's taxes. It's a -complete- non-issue. Yet, by resisting their efforts, he focuses a massive chunk of their attention on it. It's been mildly hilarious to watch the political equivalent of waving a squeaky toy in front of a dog and keeping it just out of reach.

I really believe Chyna dumped the Delta variant into India as a way of hurting them since India was directly standing up to them with their border issues. It only mutated because the originator had already played around with it to check and see what would happen. And I bet you'll see something float Taiwan's way and maybes Australia's too.

I think the big thing about it and the infrastructure bill is that this is a make-or-break moment for the Democrats, and they know it. They at once have a complete majority and a razor-thin ability to get things done. If anybody blinks (Sinema, Manchin, the Squad, etc.) everything gets upended. And with the stakes as high as they are, there's a massive risk-reward at play. Will the more conservative faction of the Democratic party win out? Will the progressives use the power they've accumulated to flex on the party? Will they all go to vacation and damn us all? It's a high stakes game, and we have no choice but to watch.

The best thing is that the more the Blue Dog's hold out, the more it incentivizes holdouts from other factions. Now, it will be much slower to gain traction with the Squad as they are all House of Representative members and thus you'd need 5 to peel away and vote against to actually gum things up. While there are nominally 6 members, only 4 are actually active and of them, only 2 are really mega assholes. Still, the longer that situation goes on the more painful its going to get.
