Just wanted to mention that even if Chris does manage to wiggle out of jail time for raping his half-dead mother and gets thrown into a care home instead, a lot of the time that can actually be a far more terrifying experience, especially to people like Chris who are still clinging to some threads of self-awareness. Being drugged up to the gills and manhandled by wranglers into enforced bathing (because we all know Chris never showers), as well as being left in a room with other far less "functioning" autistics who'll scream, bite, and punch with little provocation is usually enough that even the handful of degenerates who managed to wiggle their way into long-term care under the pretense that it's "better than prison" tend to try to scramble back out at the earliest possible opportunity.

But we also need to remember that this is someone who was convinced, legitimately, that the dimensional merge was real and an event that was going to happen. Chris always believed fucking nonsense, but that belief in nonsense has successfully been mutated to become more and more insane over time due to the actions of outside parties. People were trying to get him to admit to raping someone back in the early 2010s, FFS.
